Yvaine POV

The next months raced by in a blur. My time as a professor brought immense joy, especially when the students genuinely seemed to enjoy my classes.

Working alongside my close friends made it even more magical and fulfilling. Despite getting older, we still managed to get into some mischief, though it was easier to avoid getting caught now.

As my six months on land drew to a close, a sense of sadness welled up in me, knowing I had to leave my second home. However, the next half of the year would see me back in my first home, the Realm, fully engaged in my royal duties.

As I packed some of my belongings, I overheard my two lovers at the door, though I couldn't quite make out the topic of their conversation.

"Sebastian, wait!" Ominis exclaimed, attempting to grab his arm, being the gentleman he was, not wanting to abruptly burst in on a ladies quarters.

"Marry us!" Sebastian stated bluntly.

"Wait," I stammered, my cheeks turning slightly rosy.

"Marry us, love," he said, gently taking my hands into his, his warm smile making my heart flutter. "Is that something you'd want?"

"I'm sorry, darling. We were planning on discussing it with you, but someone couldn't wait to bring up the topic," Ominis remarked with an affectionate glance, leaning against the door.

As I collected my thoughts, I began, "I mean, I hadn't really thought about it... our relationship is still fairly new, and all."

"I understand that," Sebastian said, his eyes softening with tenderness, "but you'll be leaving soon, and is this how things will be? Half here and half there?"

"We can visit or go with her, Sebastian," Ominis added with an endearing eye roll, clearly amused by Sebastian's eagerness.

"All I'm saying is that we should make the most of our time with her, no matter how long or short," Sebastian said, his voice filled with love and a hint of playfulness, making it impossible for me to resist their charm.

I had almost pushed aside the thought of mortality looming over our relationship, the stark contrast in our lifespans. It raised so many questions. In my case, it seemed like I had thousands of years to experience life's milestones.

But for them, at most, they might have 40-50 years? And that's if they weren't taken away by disease, violence, or other unpredictable fates. We could use our magic to cure them, but even the healthiest among humans didn't live as long.

Was I really ready for marriage and children so soon? The notion of children was another complex matter to consider.

Sensing my unease, Ominis walked over and enveloped me in a comforting embrace, whispering in my ear, "Don't feel pressured, darling. We are happy with you; you are enough for both our lifetimes."

"I'm sorry, love. I just got ahead of myself... I've been carrying this ring around—," he began, his words filled with warmth and understanding.

"You have a ring?" I asked, a lump forming in my throat.

"For a little while, yes. I got it with Ominis, and knowing you're going back scared me a little," he confessed.

I pulled him into my arms, gently cradling his face in my palms. "I love you. If you two want to get married, then let's do it."

We shared more sweet kisses, each one filled with the promise of a lifetime of love and devotion, our hearts yearning for the days to come.
