Naeun's POV,

I arrived at the house Taemin had rented right after wrapping up work for the day. He'd forwarded the house details as soon as Joonwoon had finalized the deal with the landlord. While we had discussed a few things over calls and texts, not much had been solidified. The only thing we agreed on was that I wouldn't fully settle here—it would be temporary.

Entering the house with the passcode Taemin had texted me, I knew he and Joonwoon had already come by to inspect it before I did. Since my plan was just to drop by, I hadn't packed any clothes yet. I wanted to check out the space first, to see what I needed and what could stay behind. The house turned out to be larger than I expected, but I reminded myself it was only temporary, though I wasn't quite sure how Taemin and I would navigate this moving forward.

As I wandered through the house, my phone buzzed, lighting up with Joonwoon's name. I answered, curiosity tinged with anticipation.

"Hey, Joonwoon," I greeted.

"Hey there. Taemin asked me to check up on you. Are you at the house right now?" he asked, his voice calm.

"Yeah, still looking around. I'll probably leave in about half an hour. I haven't brought any clothes with me yet," I replied, the uncertainty in my voice evident.

"Alright, no rush then! Taemin wanted to know if you're planning to bring your things today or tomorrow?" Joonwoon asked, his tone reassuring.

I glanced around the empty space, contemplating for a moment. "I think I'll start bringing stuff over tonight so I can settle everything by tomorrow," I said, feeling a quiet resolve.

"Got it. I'll let him know," Joonwoon responded.

"Thanks for all your help, Joonwoon," I said, appreciating his support. We exchanged farewells, and the call ended.

I took another look around the house. The furnishings were minimal and neat, already arranged, leaving me with little to do in terms of setup. But the idea of making the place feel more like home lingered, though I wasn't sure if I'd be here long enough to bother. Still, thoughts of potential decorations and personal touches floated through my mind.

Back home, I packed both my belongings and Yongrae's, then returned to the rented house, deciding to spend the night. Part of me couldn't shake the feeling that Taemin would find any excuse to visit. As much as I didn't want to admit it, the thought of not being alone was comforting, though I'd never say that to his face.

I kept myself busy, unpacking and arranging my clothes in the wardrobe. The soft click of the hangers against the metal rod was soothing, almost therapeutic. I organized everything by color, the simple act of folding and hanging helping to ease the tension from the day.
