Naeun's POV,

I reached out, my fingers wrapping around Taemin's hand, drawing his gaze to me. "Why?" he asked softly, curiosity and affection swirling in his eyes.

I held his gaze for a moment, then hummed thoughtfully. "Let's head back inside. This event is all about you and your group. They're probably looking for you."

Taemin smiled, his lips curling slightly with a playful air. "Joonwoon's got it under control. And the other members are here too. Don't worry about me." His reassurances were light, but I could sense his calm confidence beneath the words.

Still, I couldn't shake the feeling that we needed to return. "Alright, let's go." He stood, offering his hand, and the warmth of his touch stirred something familiar in me—an unspoken understanding that always settled between us.

As I rose, our eyes met, sharing a quiet exchange that didn't need words. "I can't be selfish and keep you away for too long," I teased lightly, sticking out my tongue.

Taemin chuckled, the sound soft and comforting. "Even if you did, I wouldn't mind." His voice was gentle, the sincerity of his words wrapping around me like a blanket. He sealed his promise with a tender kiss on my forehead, the gesture simple but grounding.

Fingers intertwined, we rejoined the lively event inside. The room still buzzed with energy, though the crowd had begun to thin, groups of people saying their goodbyes and drifting out into the night. The noise gradually lessened as the remaining guests lingered for a few final conversations, and a calm settled over the space.

We found our seats beside Bomi, each of us nursing drinks as the evening wound down. Despite the fading noise, being beside Taemin offered a sense of calm—a reminder that no matter how loud or quiet the world got, we had our own private connection.

"You two can relax. The cleanup's on us," Joonwoon's voice broke through the quieter hum of the room, playful but carrying an air of responsibility as he motioned to himself and the others.

Bomi was quick to wave him off, rising without hesitation and starting to gather empty glasses. "The more hands, the faster it goes," she replied, her tone determined as she made her way to the sink, the water splashing over the glassware.

Joonwoon sighed theatrically, shaking his head with a grin. "She never listens, does she?" he quipped, a note of fondness hidden beneath his exasperation.

I joined Bomi, helping her gather the scattered bottles and glasses, while Taemin and Joonwoon busied themselves with folding the tables. There was a comfortable rhythm in the teamwork, everyone moving with a practiced ease.

When the glasses were rinsed and neatly stacked, I moved toward the boys, ready to help with the heavier work, but Taemin's voice halted me. "You can't lift these tables," he said firmly, though his smile softened the command. "Just sit and watch."
