Naeun's POV,

We arrived at the restaurant—a cozy rooftop spot owned by one of Taemin's friends. The warm afternoon sun bathed the space in a golden hue, and a light breeze carried the faint scent of blooming flowers from the potted plants scattered around. True to Taemin's word, the place was entirely ours, save for a single waiter moving discreetly in the background. The intimacy of the setting should have comforted me, but my nerves refused to settle.

Yongrae, however, was wide-eyed as he took in the view. He wandered to the edge of the rooftop, peeking over the railing at the city below. "Whoa, we're so high up!" he exclaimed, his excitement bubbling over.

Taemin knelt beside him, pointing out the landmarks visible from our vantage point. "Pretty cool, huh? This is one of my favorite spots."

Yongrae nodded enthusiastically, his earlier hesitation melting away. But as he continued to explore the space, I noticed his curious glances around. I could tell he found it odd—just the three of us, no bustling crowds, no one else around. His questions lingered in the air, unspoken but loud enough for me to hear.

We took our seats at the small, elegantly set table near the center of the rooftop. The waiter handed us the menus with a polite smile, but before I could even glance at mine, Taemin spoke up.

"I've already ordered for us," he said, his tone light. "But if there's anything else you'd like, just let me know."

Yongrae, undeterred, flipped through the menu pages with interest, pausing when he reached the desserts. He grinned and held the menu up to Taemin, pointing at something with excitement.

"You want this one?" Taemin asked, leaning in to look. His playful tone made Yongrae giggle. "Alright, we'll add it to the order."

Watching the two of them interact was bittersweet. Taemin's patience and warmth came so naturally, as if he'd always been part of our little family. But my mind was a mess, tangled in the weight of what we were here to do. How do you tell a child something so monumental? How do you explain that the man who suddenly stepped into his life wasn't just "Daddy Taemin," but his real father?

Taemin must have sensed my turmoil. His gaze softened as it met mine. "We'll eat first," he said gently, as though giving me permission to breathe.

I nodded, forcing a small smile as the waiter began to bring out our dishes.

The food looked amazing, but I barely touched mine. My appetite was buried beneath the anxiety swirling in my chest. I picked at my plate while Yongrae chatted happily with Taemin, oblivious to the tension I couldn't shake. Watching my son laugh and enjoy himself, though, brought a small sense of relief. If nothing else, he was happy, and that was enough for now.
