Taemin's POV,

Since the day of the photoshoot, I've settled into a routine of meeting and spending time with Yongrae exclusively at Bomi's house. Naeun made it abundantly clear that bringing him to my place, or visiting hers, was no longer safe.

Jihoon, Naeun, Bomi, and I have been taking turns picking Yongrae up from preschool. Today, I used the key code to enter Bomi's house since she wasn't home. Yongrae followed me inside quietly.

"I'll heat up some food for us while we wait for your mom," I told Yongrae, reassuring him that Naeun would be joining us soon. He simply nodded and settled onto the couch, his eyes glued to the TV.

As I prepared the table, the doorbell rang. I knew it had to be Naeun. I hurried to answer it. "Bomi's not here right now. It's just Yongrae and me," I said, stepping aside to let her in.

"I know. I saw the group chat," Naeun replied with a nod, her expression calm but slightly worn. She walked in and immediately greeted Yongrae with a warm smile, her voice filled with genuine curiosity as she asked, "How was your day, sweetheart?"

I left them to catch up and returned to the kitchen to finish setting the table. Their soft voices drifted from the living room, a comfortable murmur in the background. But soon, Naeun's voice broke through the noise as she wandered into the kitchen.

"What are you making?" she asked, her tone casual, but there was an undercurrent of something else—perhaps exhaustion.

"I picked up some food on my way here after getting Yongrae. We can eat together later," I replied, setting a plate on the table. When I noticed her moving to help, I added, "You don't have to, really. There's not much left to do."

She shook her head, silently gathering utensils and placing them on the table. Her movements felt slow, heavy, as if her thoughts weighed her down. I couldn't ignore it anymore. "Is there something on your mind?" I asked, my brow slightly furrowed as I looked at her.

"Later," she said with a small, somewhat forced smile. It didn't reach her eyes. We finished setting the table, and I called Yongrae over to join us. The three of us shared a quiet meal, the air filled with an unspoken tension.

After we finished eating, I cleared the plates and loaded the dishwasher. When I turned back, Naeun was sitting at the corner of the table, fidgeting with her fingers, her gaze distant. It was obvious something was weighing on her.

I couldn't hold back any longer. "So, what's on your mind?" I asked gently, breaking the stillness between us.

She straightened up, focusing on me, as if summoning the courage to say what had been on her mind. "I need a favor from you," she said softly, her words hanging in the air like a fragile secret.
