Taemin's POV,
I paced restlessly in the living room, anxiety clawing at me as I waited for Joonwoon to pick up. "Joonwoon, I need your help," I muttered, my fingers tapping nervously against my thigh.
His voice came through, concerned. "What's going on?"
"Have you heard any rumors recently? About the company covering things up for me?" I asked, knowing whispers had probably already started. "About Yongrae and Naeun," I clarified, bracing for his response.
His confirming hum came after a brief pause. "Yeah, I've heard a few."
"What are you planning now?" Curiosity mingled with caution in his tone.
I took a deep breath before letting the truth out. "I've made a decision. They need to know about Yongrae. I can't keep it hidden anymore. At the very least, they need to understand his place in my life." My voice faltered, hoping Joonwoon could guide me through what was bound to be a difficult step.
"There's information floating around about Yongrae, but nothing concrete about Naeun. I managed to play it off that Yongrae is your niece. Some photos were circulating, but we had the clearer ones taken down," Joonwoon explained. "What's left are blurry images."
A wave of relief washed over me. At least the situation wasn't completely out of control yet.
"I want to come clean to the company," I said, my resolve hardening. "Yongrae and Naeun are more important to me than anything else, and it's time I stopped hiding."
I could only hope that this decision, difficult as it was, would be in the best interest of all three of us, despite the challenges I knew we would face.
