Naeun's POV,

I was helping Mom pack a full set of side dishes into large containers. "Mom, this is too much for just me and Yongrae," I said, glancing at the overflowing tubs.

Mom gave me a knowing smile as she stirred a bowl of kimchi. "Who said it's just for you two? You can share this with Bomi and Taemin," she replied, her voice light but insistent.

"But this is really too much," I said, looking at the mountainous pile of food. "I don't even know where to store all this, Mom."

"Trust your mom's instincts when I say this is the right amount. Even if it's more than enough, you can always share with others," Dad chimed in, entering the kitchen and casually grabbing the mug by the sink for a drink of water.

Both Mom and Dad still didn't know I had moved into the new house temporarily. It felt like a detail I could hold off on for now. After all, it was only a temporary arrangement. I didn't think it was necessary to spill the truth just yet, so I brushed the thought aside.

I sighed and gave up on arguing, continuing to help her pack the side dishes. "Feels like we're preparing for a dinner party with ten people," I muttered under my breath, reaching for the next container.

Dad, who had just gotten his water from the filter, chuckled. "Where's Yongrae?" he asked, glancing around the kitchen.

"He's packing his clothes," I replied with a shrug. "I tried to help him, but he insisted he could handle it. He kept reminding me that he's getting big and can do it all himself."

Dad chuckled again, shaking his head. "That boy's growing up too fast."

Once we were done packing all the side dishes, I carefully carried the containers to the front. Just as I set them down on the table by the door, the doorbell rang, its chime slicing through the quiet of the house. I paused for a moment, knowing exactly who it was—it had to be Taemin.

"I'll get the door," I called out, more to myself than anyone. I made my way to the door and opened it. "Hey," Taemin greeted me, handing me a paper bag.

I raised an eyebrow. "What's this?" I asked, my voice laced with curiosity.

"That's for your parents. Not for you," Taemin replied, his gaze flicking to the inside of the bag, as if making sure it was still there.

"I know, but what is it?" I repeated, more insistent this time.

Taemin seemed to brush my question aside. "Who's home? Is your dad around?" His voice lowered slightly, becoming more careful.

"Yes, he's home. He knows you're coming," I said, just loud enough for the two of us to hear, not wanting to raise my voice unnecessarily.

Just then, the sound of footsteps echoed down the hallway, and I knew exactly who it was before the shout came. "Daddy Taemin!" Yongrae's voice rang out as he appeared beside my dad, the two of them walking toward us.
