Subject: Small Town Living Perks (I guess?)

Cass,

Sometimes, living in such a small town seems like it must not be real.

But you're not here, so I know it is.

I find the relationships of town folk nearly incomprehensible. There are no secrets. Everyone knows everything about everyone, and tells everyone they meet. No one seems bothered by this.

Today, we dispensed prescriptions to someone, without even asking about his relationship to the patient. I mean, sure Sadiq probably knows the deal already, but like, the lack of questions was almost... concerning.

Anyways, Rowan is not single. Whatever fantasies my subconscious was creating for me and him, are all trash now. He's definitely with someone, and there is a child involved. Obviously, I don't have all the details and facts yet (though, I probably could have asked and I would have learned everything), but single men don't pick up meds for a random woman's yeast infections. That's just not real life. So, as hot as my dream was last week, it won't be happening in real life.

At least now we've been formally introduced. I guess that was one saving grace.

He's not chatty though. Barely spared me a glance. He wasn't much chattier in my dream, but we definitely had a more positive interaction, if you know what I mean, wink wink nudge nudge.

Oh god. I've lost my mind.

I don't know how I'm ever going to find someone in a town like this. I don't want everyone to know my business before I even know it, but I feel like that's what would happen here.

I have not, and will not, mention that-asshole in conversation. I cannot let the whole town learn about him, or what he did. They'll all give me pitying looks and literally pat me on the head when they see me. I'm not even that short!
