Amelia stepped into her spotless kitchen, the early morning sun casting a warm glow through the window. She opened up the refrigerator, trying to figure out what to make for breakfast. Teddy would be up soon, and she wanted to talk to him before Steve came over.
Spotting a glass container with fresh blueberries and a pound of bacon from the butcher. Homemade blueberry waffles and bacon it is. As she gathered her ingredients, the aroma of fresh blueberries filled the air.
She began by sifting the dry ingredients into a large mixing bowl, creating a cloud of flour and baking powder. Next came a touch of sugar to add a hint of sweetness. A pinch of salt would enhance the flavors, and she gently stirred the mixture with a wooden spoon.
She cracked a couple of eggs in a separate bowl and whisked them until they were frothy. Adding a splash of vanilla extract, she stirred the fragrant liquid into the eggs. Finally, she poured some milk, creating a creamy, aromatic concoction.
With a quick flick of the wrist, she combined the wet and dry ingredients, watching as they blended to form a smooth batter. She couldn't forget the star of the show - a generous helping of plump, juicy blueberries. Gently folding them into the batter, she ensured every waffle would burst with fruity goodness.
Amelia preheated the Spiderman waffle maker; maybe she was trying too hard. She poured just the right amount of batter onto the hot iron and closed the lid, releasing a tantalizing sizzle.
As she waited, Amelia laid strips of applewood-smoked bacon on the griddle to cook. The sweet-salty smell of bacon mingled with the scent of waffles began to fill the kitchen.
The light on the waffle maker soon flashed; Amelia lifted the lid to reveal perfectly golden waffles imprinted with the iconic Spiderman face. She carefully transferred them to a waiting plate with a pair of tongs.
"Momma," Teddy mumbled, his small hands wiping away sleep from his eyes as he shuffled into the kitchen.
Amelia greeted him with an affectionate smile, admiring his tousled hair and his Spidey pajamas. "Good morning, baby," she said, deftly tending to the sizzling bacon. She reached for the refrigerator door and retrieved a container of orange juice. "I've made waffles and bacon for breakfast. Does that sound good?" she asked as she set plates and utensils on the bar.
