Steve tugged his scarf up as the cold December air nipped at his neck, all around him the city bustled. Christmastime in New York was something, the atmosphere crackling with festive energy. The air was crisp and cool, carrying the tantalizing scents of cinnamon and roasted chestnuts from street vendors. The city was covered with colorful lights, sparkling decorations, and the occasional flurry of snowflakes gently drifting down from the sky.

The sounds of Christmas filled the air—the cheerful melodies of carols playing from storefronts, the laughter of children as they skated on an outdoor ice rink, and the jingling of bells from the horse-drawn carriages that trotted by.

Steve's steps echoed on the pavement as he made his way to The Daily Brew where he was meeting Bucky and Sam. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee wafted from the shop, mingling with the scent of pine from nearby Christmas trees, creating a cozy and inviting ambiance.

As he entered the coffee shop, Steve was greeted by the warm chatter of patrons and the hiss of the espresso machine. The interior was adorned with twinkling lights, garlands, and a large Christmas tree in one corner, covered with ornaments and tinsel.

As Steve entered the coffee shop, he shrugged off the cold of the winter air and made his way to the counter. Mary, the familiar face behind the counter, turned around with a bright smile, her warmth immediately enveloping him.

"Well, well, well, look who's here," Mary greeted with a chuckle, pulling Steve into a warm, motherly hug. Steve leaned into the embrace, feeling the stress of the day melt away in her comforting presence. Mary stepped back, her hands on Steve's cheeks as she examined him with motherly concern.

"You look good, baby. How have you been?" Mary asked, her eyes filled with genuine care.

Steve returned her smile. "I'm good," he replied, feeling grateful for her kindness.

Mary shook her head with a sympathetic sigh as she walked back around the counter. "I heard about your accident. I'm glad you're back on your feet," she said, her tone full of empathy. "And I heard your girlfriend worked some magic with the judge."

Steve nodded, a hint of pride in his voice. "Yeah, she did," he confirmed, setting his bags on the counter. Thanks to Amelia's relentless efforts, Steve had received the justice he deserved for the accident. The judge swiftly ruled in their favor, and Steve was grateful to be able to move forward without the burden of medical bills and with a new motorcycle to boot. "Took the judge all of ten minutes to decide," Steve added with a chuckle.
