i'll be your greatest memory
that even you can't forget.
take these freckles of light
on my bare glowing hands
so you'll shine on your own
and glitter even your shallow bones.

i know we'll not meet again:
we have our own paintings to draw,
we have our own masterpieces to make,
we have all different paths to take.

'cause through the fading lights of dusk and dawn—
during the hot summer nights,
during the breezy winters that may pass,
we can't be together and forever
our burning desires will not ever last.

'cause all the true sunflowers
will not bend its stem
and twist its colorful leaves
through ravaging storms and thunders
and when no great sunshine has come,
when the petals have no umbrella to shelter,
it will always wither.
