Forever Bound

Chapter 5: Feed

( Authors note: this after Hayley has had the baby.)

It's 12:24am, Hayley wakes up too the sound of baby Hope crying. She groans and gets up and starts walking into Hopes room.

"Shhhh, mommy's here" Hayley says while picking Hope out of crib and rocking her back and forth gently, Hope soon falls back too sleep in Hayley's arms, Hayley sighs softly and puts Hop back in her crib. She watches Hope for a while before walking out of Hope's room and shutting the door quietly.

Once she turns she's see's Katrina stood at the top of the stairs in a pair of sweatpants and baggy t-shirt "this is most casual thing I've ever seen her wear" Hayley thinks to herself before crossing her arms "Why are you awake?" Hayley asks in a little bit of a stern tone "Because I was hungry" Katrina replies her English accent thick because she's tired but her voice is monotone "What so you just woke up in the middle of the night and feasted on the first person you saw?" Hayley replies in a snarky tone.

Katrina's eyebrows raise "Yes. Yes I did....You know what I sense, right now?" She replies her voice still monotone "What?" Hayley asks rubbing her temples "You're hungry, you can leave and I'll look after Hope or there's blood bags downstairs in the freezer" Katrina says playing with her lapis blue ring looking up at Hayley through her eyelashes still raised.

"Why are you being so nice?" Hayley asks her tone laced with a slight suspicion "Because if you faint from hunger, I'm not catching you....So?" Katrina says casually and stops playing with her ring Hayley sighs softly "I'm honestly not that hungry...but thank you Kat" Katrina looks at Hayley her eyebrows furrows and her nose scrunches "Don't call me that....please" Her voice slightly broken but Hayley doesn't question it "Right, Okay" Hayley says looking down.

Katrina sighs softly "But please eat...eventually because as I said I'm not catching you" she then walks past Hayley into her own room. Hayley watches and then goes into her own bedroom and falls asleep.

Three days later

It's late in the afternoon Katrina is sat in the study reading. Hayley finally put Hope down for her nap, she hasn't fed for a few days and feels really weak.

Katrina puts the book away and gets up to walk into the living room after realising Klaus has moved a painting of hers from the study, Hayley walks in as well they don't take much notice of each other. Hayley starts dragging her feet feeling so very weak. Katrina doesn't notice and continues looking for her painting.

Hayley collapses and Katrina vamp speeds over and catches her. Her eyes panicked and worried but notices how pale Hayley is which tells her she hasn't fed.

She takes Hayley up to her bedroom, and sets her on the bed gently. An hour or so later Hayley wakes up and groans as she does and looks over and sees a blood bag on her bedside table.

"Drink" Katrina says leaning on the doorframe. Hayley looks at her about to protest "I don't care what you have to say drink. Now" Katrina cuts her off. Hayley then opens the blood bag and drinks it from the straw the taste of the blood is heavenly. "Good...good girl" Katrina says to Hayley like a mother does when they're child does something when they do something right.

Once Hayley finishes drinking she looks up at Katrina a little it of a smirk on her face "I thought you said you wouldn't catch me" Hayley says in a bit of a snarky tone. Katrina rolls her eyes "I do hate you but I like you just a little bit , so I wasn't gonna let you fall" "Like me or Hope? Hm?" Hayley says her smirk growing "Okay maybe Hope more than you but, Hayley, as much as I hate you, your Hopes mother so I have to like you a little" Katrina says looking down at her hands playing with her ring.

Hayley glances at the ring. It's silver with a lapis blue gem in the middle with swirls of cubic zirconia around it. "It's beautiful" Hayley says softly "What?" Katrina says looking up and cocking an eyebrow, "The ring" "Oh right...it was my grandmothers" Katrina replies before putting her hand in her pocket "Is it a daylight ring?" Hayley asks curiously, Katrina nods she seems a bit uncomfortable talking about it so Hayley doesn't push any further.

"Promise me you'll start feeding" Katrina says looking at Hayley her baby blue eyes meeting Hayley's hazel-green one's "I promise I'll start feeding" Hayley replies "Why do you care so much?" "Because It's good for you, and you'll actually you know be awake when Hope is" Katrina replies her voice has gone back to her monotone one.

"Alright, but I'm doing it for Hope" Hayley says, Katrina nods "Good" she then walks out of Hayley's room.
