Forever Bound

Chapter 7: Nightmares

(Authors note: Freya is now included in the story)

Hayley is watching Hope sleeping and Hayley is sat in the rocking chair watching her smiling softly. She hears something ruffle and bang in Katrina's room she quickly gets up and knocks on the bedroom door.

"Katrina?! Are you okay?" Hayley asks obviously very worried. Katrina doesn't reply, Hayley walks in and Katrina is completely zoned out staring into space completely and she's sweaty and has a fearful face. Hayley rushes over to her "Katrina?" Hayley asks worried, she gently places her hand on Katrina's shoulder and Katrina snaps out of it.

"Huh? What?" Katrina mumbles confused, "Are you okay? You seemed really out of it" Hayley asks obviously concerned, "Yeah I'm fine it was just a little nightmare" Katrina sighs softly. Hayley goes to move a stray strand of Katrina's hair out of Katrina's face but Katrina moves away not wanting to be touched.

"Are you sure your okay?" Hayley asks again sceptical of wether Katrina is telling the truth "Yes I'm fine" Katrina says in a more agitated tone starting to get annoyed. Hayley notices Katrina's agitated tone and just says "I know it's not nothing, Katrina....and I know you don't like opening up too people but I'm here for you...I hope you know that" Hayley says softly and gets off Katrina's bed and goes to walk out. Katrina calls out "Hayley wait" Katrina sighs softly.

Hayley turns around and look at Katrina "It was about my father..." Katrina says her tone soft, Hayley's eyebrows raise in confusion "I thought you said you didn't care about him anymore?" Hayley asks confused. "I didn't but....Well Freya loves him and mother sent her away to Dahlia and so Freya wasn't never there and didn't know what he did too me but I-....I'm wondering if it would've been different if she was..." Katrina rambles.

Hayley has a sympathetic look on her face, "Don't look at me like that" Katrina says looking at Hayley "Like what?" Hayley asks "Like you feel bad for me...I don't need it" Katrina states, Hayley looks at her hands and back up at Katrina.

"I know me and you aren't really...friends, but I am glad you opened up too me about that..." Hayley says trying to brighten up the mood, Katrina just nods.

Hayley walks out the room and shuts the door behind her, Katrina lays back down in bed and stares at the ceiling for about half an hour before drifting off.

The Morning.

Freya is sat downstairs going through a grimoire. Katrina walks downstairs and looks at Freya with a confused forgetting Freya lives there. Freya looks up and goes "I live here remember" Freya says to Katrina after noticing her sisters confused look.

"Oh yeah" Katrina says remembering her sister lives there, Freya goes back to reading her grimoire, Katrina stands there "Do you need anything, little sister?" Freya asks eyes glued to the grimoire, Katrina shakes her head "No just thinking..." Katrina stands there for a few moments before saying "I'm sorry".

Freya gets really confused "For what?" Freya says setting the grimoire down Katrina looks at her hands "For what happened to Father" Katrina says bluntly "Rebekah told me what happened..." Katrina continues. Freya's look turns slightly empathetic "You didn't kill him Klaus did, It's not your fault" Freya says softly.

"Yeah, but I still feel I play a part in it...Father hated Klaus but he hated me more, Klaus wouldn't have had to kill if I had just let him kill me-" Katrina's tone is sad but also laced with guilt, so Freya cuts her off "It is not your fault, Katrina. If anything it's our mothers, not only did she cheat on our Father and have you and Klaus with the werewolf she cheated with, but she also gave me too Dahlia, and I will never forgive her for that, and I'm not trying to defend our Father for what he did too you, but it was never your fault, okay?" Freya's tone is empathetic trying to reassure Katrina.

"But he said it was he said I deserved it" Katrina says but her face doesn't show any emotion neither does her voice "No one deserves that, and I will never forgive him for what he did too you" Katrina looks at Freya "Thank you and I know that you saw him when he was nicer...sometimes I wish I saw that part of him too, I wish mother had let you stay".

Freya gets up and hugs Katrina tightly, Katrina freezes not used to being hugged or even touched for that matter but hugs Freya back. Freya stroked her hair soothingly almost motherly "Well I'm here now, and I don't plan on going anywhere" Freya reassures Katrina "You have my word".

After they hug for a moment Freya sits back down and pats the cushion next to her gesturing for Katrina too sit down. Katrina sits down and looks at Freya's grimoire and sees that she needs Chamomile but there isn't any in the house "Do you want me to get some for you?" Katrina asks "What?" Freya says confused "Chamomile, would you like me to get some I know a place" Freya smiles at Katrina "You'd do that?" Katrina nods, "That would be helpful, yes" Freya says smiling Katrina gets up and walks out to get Freya Chamomile.

Katrina walks into Jardin Gris, and the shopkeeper (Genevieve) looks at Katrina and rolls her eyes "What do you want, Mikaelson" Genevieve asks annoyed "Chamomile" Katrina says smiling but the smile is sadistic not real. "And why should I give you Chamomile?" Genevieve asks in a snarky tone.

"Need I remind you what happened to the old shopkeeper here?" Katrina says threateningly. Genevieve sighs softly "Katie got killed but by your twin not you" Genevieve replies still in a snarky tone but there's a slight hint of fear "You and I both know that I am a lot worse than my twin" Katrina says her iris's turn a gold colour and her sclera's turn crimson red and the veins under her eyes darken.

A look of fear crosses Genevieve's face and she hands Katrina the Chamomile. Katrina stops her hybrid eyes "Thank you" she then walks out the shop and goes home.

She walks through the door and hands Freya the Chamomile, Freya smiles gratefully "Thank you little one" Freya says to Katrina, Katrina's heart warms at Freya calling her "little one", "No problem" Katrina says to Freya.
