Chapter 19: Colour

The Mikaelson are having a sibling brunch.

Katrina and Kol don't see the point in brunch, because they're vampires.

Kol taps Katrina's shoulder, Katrina turns too look at Kol with her resting bitch face, "What?" She asks.

"I think I'm in love with someone" Kol says proudly, Katrina raises an eyebrow, "Who?" She sighs.

"Davina..." he says, his tone shy, "Davi-?!" Kol covers her mouth "Shh!".

Katrina is holding back a laugh, and Kol glares at her, but then smiles seeing how she finds it funny.

Kol looks back at the family and then has an idea, he looks back at Katrina.

Katrina notices the mischievous smile on Kols face, "We should have a scrap, just to annoy them".

Katrina also has a mischievous smile on her face now and nods, "Hit me" he whisper to Katrina.

Then Katrina punched him across the face, Kol vamp speeds up and tackles her.

Kol punches her so Katrina punches him back, Elijah rushes over and drags them off of each other.

"Children! Enough!" Elijah exclaims, Katrina's shirt has Kols blood on it and her nose is bleeding.

Kol has blood dropping from his nose, they're both laughing which confused the family.

"Why-....you know what just please don't fight" Elijah says sternly and let's go of them.

They both sit back down giggling, and everyone continues eating as if nothing happened.

Katrina walks into the living room, Hayley is watching tv, she looks at Katrina and her eyes widen.

"Is that blood?!" Hayley says her eyes wide, "Don't worry it's not mine" "That's supposed to reassure me?!".

Katrina shrug her shoulders, Hayley grabs Katrina's wrist and takes her to her bedroom.

She goes in Katrina's closet and chooses a fresh shirt for her too wear and throws it at her.

Katrina catches it with one hand, "Put it on" Hayley says, Katrina nods.

She pulls the blood covered shirt off and puts the new one on, "Happy?" Katrina asks Hayley.

"Much" Hayley replies, Hayley looks at her feet for a second and looks back up at Katrina.

Katrina looks back at Hayley, "...What's your favourite colour?" Katrina asks out of the blue.

"What?" Hayley says confused, "Well, we've known each other for three years and I still know hardly any basic stuff about you, so...?" Katrina says bluntly.

Hayley chuckles and sits down on the arm chair, "Green...What's yours?" Hayley asks softly, Katrina sits next to her.

"Red, Ironic given I'm part vampire..." Katrina chuckles softly, "Where did you grow up?" Hayley asks.

"Virginia, Mystic Falls or where Mystic Falls is now, it used to be a huge forest and our village was in the middle, the lake was always there though" Katrina says softly, "Is that your favourite place....the lake I mean" Hayley asks.

Katrina nods, "It was mine and..uh.. Henrik place, to get away from the world...our parents..." Katrina pauses and chuckles softly.

"He had this special tree, and it would be the only tree he would lean on, if I tried to convince him too lean on another one and he'd just say "Your going to have to make me move, Kat", he was stubborn but that's a Mikaelson trait I hope Hope doesn't inherit" Katrina laughs while telling her story.

Hayley nods "Why don't you tell me about your younger brother?" She asks wanting to know more about Henrik, Katrina smiles.

"He was 6 years younger than me, I think I was closer to him rather than my other siblings, he looked a lot like Elijah, his favourite colour was a sunset orange, we used to watch the sunset by the lake together and tell each other scary stories..." Katrina laughs and then pauses.

"...I can... remember his laugh...the one thing about him I could never forget, he had one of the laughs that made you laugh...he uhm...was the first person I told...that I like women, because it wasn't accepted back then you'd be burned on the stake for it, but he never told anyone..." Katrina smiles.

Hayley smiles too, she likes listening to Katrina talk "He did tease me for it though, when I first told him he said "No way miss straight as stick Katrina, is a homosexual", but he never was disgusted about it, he was accepting...I'll never forget that".

Hayley laughs "That was his nickname for you?! "Miss straight as a stick Katrina"" Hayley laughs more, "I am a very good actress" Katrina says smugly.

Hayley laughs more, "What about you?" Katrina asks, "I grew up in Massachusetts" Hayley says, Katrina smiles.

Hayley and Katrina spend hours talking to each other, suddenly Katrina remembers something.

"Rebekah birthday party is in a couple of days!...but what to get her..."  Katrina says, thinking for a few moments.

"I'm sure anything to do with diamonds and Rebekah will be happy" Hayley says a slight snark to her tone, Katrina chuckles and nods, "Yeah, yeah your right..." Katrina pauses thinking of something else now.

Hayley notices "What's on your mind?" Hayley asks her voice slightly concerned, Katrina looks at Hayley and smiles, "What's your favourite gemstone?" She asks.

Hayley seems confused by the question "Emerald...why?" "No reason,just curios" Katrina smiles.

Hayley chuckles softly, "You can be very random, you know that" Katrina nods, "Yeah but it's better to be random rather than boring" Katrina shrugs her shoulders.

"Well, your a bit of both" Hayley says sarcastically, Katrina chucks a pillow at Hayley, "Alright! Alright, I deserved that" Hayley smiles at Katrina.
