Chapter 6: Scar

Katrina sits on the couch reading as always, but this time she has Hope in one arm and a book in her free hand. Hope is coos happily in her arms, she likes Katrina more than Klaus which confuses everyone since Klaus is not only her father but Katrina is a lot more intimidating, but Hope seems to like her more.

Hayley walks down the stairs seeing the adorable moment, she smiles softly at them Katrina seems too indulgent in her book too notice Hayley's presence until Hope start to move her arms towards Hayley, Katrina raises an eyebrow and the looks at the direction Hope is moving and notices Hayley. They make eye contact for a few moments.

Katrina gestures for Hayley to take Hope since Hope obviously wants to go to her mother. Hayley takes Hope from Katrina's arms and cradles her. Katrina goes back too reading. Hope falls asleep in her arms Hayley smiles at the sight of her daughter. She looks up at Katrina who seemingly didn't notice and is reading.

"You read a lot, don't you?" Hayley says to Katrina who goes "Mhm" and continues too read. Hayley sets Hope down and sits next to Katrina. Hayley notices a small scar on the back of Katrina ear.

Katrina senses her looking and murmurs "Father" but loud enough for Hayley to hear. Hayley pauses "He did that too you?" Katrina nods they sit there silent for a few moments before Katrina speaks up "I can tell you have a question so ask" Hayley look at Katrina, Katrina eyes are fixated on the book but she's listening "....How did he do that?" Hayley asks in a concerned tone but knows she might regret the answer Katrina will give. "A dagger, I was around 7 and I was hunting I think it was a rabbit...and I missed so he took the dagger out my hand and slit the back of my ear since I was supposed to get the rabbits ear" Katrina says this in an almost casual way as if it doesn't bother her.

Hayley's eyes widen but doesn't want to push any further on the topic since it could upset Katrina and when she's upset she gets upset drastically. "I'm sorry that he did that" Hayley says in a sympathetic tone. Katrina chuckles softly "It's fine" "But he shouldn't have done that!" Hayley starts to get slightly irate e by the fact Katrina is so unbothered that Mikael abused her.

Katrina doesn't respond but look at Hayley, they make eye contact and stay like that for a few moments and the tension gets stronger. Katrina then sighs softly "I don't get why you care" Katrina says her voice now monotone "Would you rather me not care about your wellbeing?" Hayley asks sarcastically "Yes" Katrina replies "It's my job to care about my well-being I don't need someone to do that for me" Hayley scoffs at this "I'm sorry I tried to make the big bad wolf open up about something she needs too"

Katrina told her eyes "Oh what so now I need to open up too!" Katrina snarls "It's unhealthy to keep it all too yourself!" Hayley argues back "Well I'm sorry I don't immediately trust strangers, Little wolf!" Hayley rolls her eyes at Katrina "It's not like I'm asking you to go up to some random guy and seduce him! I'm asking you too open up too me!" Hayley said through gritted teeth her anger boiling "I want you too trust me is that too much to bloody ask!?" "Yes, because if you haven't noticed I hardly trust anyone out side of my family!" Katrina argues "What so I'm not family?!" Hayley's tone is angry but she's also pushing Katrina to her limits.

Katrina sighs angrily "That's...not what I meant" she grumbled "Oh well it sure as hell sounded like it!" Hayley barks "Hayley you-" Hayley cuts her off "I don't want to hear it, Katrina. I'm trying to be your friend and all you can do is argue with me, it's really tiring, why do you have to be so goddamn stubborn! You lose your temper over every little thing, and I thought Klaus had a short temper!" Hayley's voice saying the last sentence is a little teasing practically daring Katrina to do something.

Katrina growls softly "Shut up!" Katrina growls, "Make me" Hayley said in a snarky tone. Katrina grabs Hayley's wrists and pins her to the wall "I said be quiet!" Katrina says, her face inches away from Hayley's and sudden movement would cause they're lips too meet.

The tension is high Katrina keeps Hayley pinned, Hayley goes to lean in but as she does Hope wakes up crying. Katrina let's go of Hayley to let her comfort Hope while mumbling something in Norse under her breath, Hayley notices but doesn't say anything.

Hayley goes over to comfort Hope and can't help but wonder if Katrina knew she was about to kiss her and if she were to do it back.
