6 - Talks

Hey everyone! As i've said in my last update I haven't had the time to write at the moment, however i'm not stopping this book. I won't be back for regular posting just yet, i'll just try to get a post out whenever I can.

[Instead of returning to District 11. The scene now shows the team for District 12.]

[The stylists, Effie, Haymitch, Katniss, and Peeta, are all sitting around the dining table eating dinner.]

Haymitch: He's a career. You know what that is?

Katniss: From District 1.

Haymitch: And 2. They train in a special academy until they're eighteen, and then they volunteer. By that point, they're pretty lethal.

Effie: But they don't receive any special treatment. In fact, they stay in the exact same apartment as you do. And I don't think they let them have dessert, and you can.

Everyone looked in disbelief at what this woman was saying. She was really so clueless that she didn't realise that them getting training for their entire lives was special treatment. This was the moment they realised how genuinely oblivious the people living in the capitol were to everything that was happening.

"I knew they were ignorant, but this has truly taken the cake," Nat huffs, shaking her head in distaste.

Blake looks towards her fiancé with a loving but amused look covering her face and sighs, "Yeah, tell me about it."

[Peeta and Katniss looked at her with slight disgust for not noticing how unfair them having training was.]

[Haymitch just leans back into his chair, taking another sip of his drink.]

Peeta: So, how good are they?

Haymitch: Well, obviously, they're pretty good. They win it almost every year.

[Effie sits forward, giving the two tributes a look that attempts to be reassuring.]

Effie: Almost.

"Just be quiet, woman!" Yelena shouts, gradually getting more and more annoyed with how oblivious this woman is.

[Everyone simply ignored her as Haymitch kept talking.]

Haymitch: Recently, a few more from other Districts have been going through. Johanna Mason from 7 won the 71st.

[Haymitch paused for a moment, a small smile gracing his features as he thought about the next person he was about to say.]

Haymitch: Then Vivienne Blake from 11, who won 72nd. Last year was a career, though.

"Aw, he had a little smile thinking about you, baby", Natasha whispers into Blake's ear, then kisses her cheek. A slight blush coated her cheeks after Natasha called her the pet name. She doesn't know what it is, but Natasha always manages to make her blush so easily.

[Katniss raised her eyebrows slightly at how Haymitch's mood became lighter at the mention of the 72nd Victor.]

[Haymitch ignored her expression and kept talking.]

Haymitch: They can be arrogant. And arrogance can be a big problem.

[He gives Katniss a look, telling her that she can come across as arrogant herself before swiftly moving along.]
