5 - Preparations

[Vivienne can be seen standing in a very public place where the entire crowd could see her while she was waiting for Thresh.]

[Thresh can be seen walking towards her, and she meets him half-way.]

[Once they reach each other, Viv smiles at him and winks before grabbing both sides of his face and pulling him into a lingering kiss.]

[The audience around them was heard cheering loudly at the interactions.]

Many of the Avengers grew uncomfortable at this type of affection being shown, not being used to seeing it with anyone other than Natasha. They knew this was in the past, and they knew it was all an act, but it was still such a strange concept to them that Blake and her best friend had to pretend to be dating so that he had a better chance at staying alive.

[When they pull apart, Vivienne smirks at the boy, taking his hand and interlacing their fingers, and pulls him behind the scenes where all the other mentors are talking to their tributes.]

Thresh: Can I meet you friends?

Blake smiles at the screen. Yes, Thresh was this massive hunk of muscle, however underneath it all he was simply a big softy who was genuinely excited about meeting the people that his best friend had befriended in the time they were forced to spend apart. She really misses the boy more than life itself.

[Viv looks at him with a small smile and nods, pulling him towards where Johanna and Finnick are situated.]

[Both of them look at the duo from District 11 and smile slightly.]

Viv: Guys, this is Thresh. Thresh, this is Finnick Odair and Johanna Mason.

Thresh: It's nice to finally meet you both; Vivi has told me a lot about you both.

Finnick: Oh, well, don't feel left out. She never shuts up about you, either.

[Finnick smirks at the girl, who is now blushing from her being exposed.]

Everyone chuckles at the screen. Nowadays, it is almost impossible to make Blake blush unless you are a certain redhead with the initials NR. So, seeing her blush so quickly was genuinely amusing to watch. Especially since the blushing was from embarrassment – that was something not even Natasha could achieve.

Johanna: It's good to meet you, Thresh. I wish it was under better circumstances.

[Thresh looks down and takes a deep breath before looking up again.]

[Viv squeezes his hand, which she is still holding, to try and provide some comfort.]

Thresh: Yeah. Definitely would be nicer under different circumstances.

Viv: Well, you two have your tributes to deal with. I'm going to take him out to our room. I'll see you two around.

Finnick: Of course. See you around, Viv. Good luck, Thresh. I'm hoping for the best.

Johanna: Good luck. See you, Viv.

[Still hand in hand, Viv leads Thresh towards the elevators and presses the button to reach their level.]

Viv: Every District has their own floor. We're District 11, so we have floor 11.

[Thresh just nods in response.]

[Soon, the Elevator opens, revealing the extravagant room, leaving Thresh to stand there in a moment of shock.]

Thresh: Woah.
