"What the hell is wrong with you"? Becca asked, storming up to me at school the next morning. "You scared the shit out of me, ran off, then didn't answer my texts or my phone calls"?!

"Becca, there's something wrong with me" I said quietly, looking down at my shoes.

"What? Lex can you please just tell me what's happening"? She asked, her blue eyes meeting my brown ones. "I'm scared for you".

"Someone spoke to me" I said massaging my temples. "Like in my head, I heard a voice".

"I then looked up at Luke, and he was smirking, like he knew what was going on, but then Ashton told Luke to stop whatever he was doing and I heard the voice say "sorry" and then I ran off", I explained.

I looked up at Becca and she was deep in thought.

"Am I going crazy Bec"? I asked, feeling tears coming up in my eyes.

Becca opened her mouth to say something but was cut off by familiar voices.

"Ladies" Luke said with a smirk.

I gasped and backed away from him. "G-get away fr-from me" I stuttered, suddenly fearing the blonde boy, he spoke to me telepathically and I had no clue what else he was capable of.

"Woah Alexis, are you alright"? Ashton asked.

"Ash, can you walk Rebecca to class"? Luke said looking at his friend. "I need to speak to Alexis about something".

Ashton only nodded in response.

"C'mon Becca, let's get to class" he said grabbing Becca's arm and dragging her down the hallway.

I was then shaking with fear, I was backed up against my locker looking at the boy in front of me with wide eyes.

"Pl-please don't hurt me Luke, please" I said, tears once again threatening to spill.

"No no no Alexis, I'm not gonna hurt you, ever. I just need to explain some stuff" he said taking a small step closer to me.

By then we were completely alone in the hallway. Everyone else was in class. Shit, I'm skipping class. Coach will not be happy if he finds out.

"Luke I need to get back to class" I said still shaking. I tried to get past the tall boy but he simply blocked my path.

"No Alexis, I can't have you running around thinking that you're going mad when you're really not" he said, looking completely serious.

"How did y-"

"Il explain everything once we're off school property" he said grabbing my hand, making butterflies erupt in my stomach. "Let's go to the park".

Once we got to the park we sat underneath a big oak tree overlooking a small pond.

"Was it you"? I asked, breaking the uncomfortable silence.

He then looked down at his feet. "Yeah, it was me, I spoke inside your head Alexis".

I was speechless, I just sat there with my mouth hanging wide open.

"How"? I said becoming scared.

"I can't tell you sweetheart" he said smirking. "At least not now anyway".

Blushing madly, I started playing with my fingernails. "Don't call me that" I said.

"Why not" he asked laughing.

"I don't like it" I said stuttering.

"Yes you do"

I jumped slightly. "Luke, please stop"

"Sorry" he said laughing. "It's kind of a habit".

"Can the other boys read minds"? I asked Luke.

"No, but they can do other things" he said shrugging.

"So much for 'telling me about stuff' " I said rolling my eyes.

He laughed in response. "Oh Lex, you'll find out soon enough".

So Luke DID read Alexis' mind and spoke to her telepathically . What did he mean by "you'll find out soon enough"? 😏
