"So it was him"?? Becca asked me with wide eyes. "What the hell is he"?

I thought for a moment, did supernatural beings actually exist? Was Luke human? Or was he some sort of creature, beast, or monster?

"I honestly don't know Bec. I think we should just stay away from the boys. They could be really dangerous and I don't want anything happening to us" I said thinking about the worse possible situation.

"But how are we gonna do that Lex"? She asked playing with her fingernails. "They like us, they've become our friends and I don't want to just ditch them".

"Becca, if they actually are supernatural beings, which I highly doubt they are, then they're dangerous. I don't want to risk our lives over people we just met". I said softly.

Just then there was a knock at the door, Becca and I jumped slightly as we weren't expecting anyone. Her parents were working late and her older brother Charlie was out with his girlfriend. Plus the fact that it was past 11:00 at night.

"Who could that be"? She said whispering.

"I don't know, but I'm going to go check" I said, walking up to the front door quietly.

I then swiftly opened Becca's front door ready to face whoever was at the front door when I was met with one person that I didn't think I would see. Luke.

"Alexis, thank god you're here, I need to speak with you and Rebecca, now". He said.

Then I noticed something, his once beautiful ocean blue eyes weren't their original colour, they were now a golden yellow.

"Luke what's up with your eyes"? I asked studying his face.

"Alex there's no time for questions, I need you and Becca to pack a bag, leave a note saying you're perfectly fine and come with me, we need to go, they're coming". He said, with a completely serious look on his face.

"What? Who's coming after you"? I asked, starting to get scared.

"Lex? Who's at the door"? Becca said, coming to the door, ruining the sentence Luke was just about to say.

"We need to leave, now" I said turning towards my bestfriend.

"I'll explain everything once we reach the boys, but for now girls, get packed" Luke said walking into Becca's house.

"I'll pack Bec, right a letter to your parents explaining we needed to leave and that we're fine, and that we'll be back soon. We don't know when but we are ok" I said.

I was freaking out. Who's coming after the boys, Becca and I. Do they have something to do with Luke being able to read my mind? Are we in danger?

Packing only took a couple of minutes, I just stuffed a whole bunch of clothes in a bag since Becca and I were practically the same size and then grabbed toiletries and I was ready to go.

"Okay we're ready" I said walking up to the tall Australian boy.

"Good, because the hunters are almost here" he said walking out the front door.

The two of us were too stunned to move. Hunters? What hunters? Who were these people hunting and why us and the boys?

"Well are you coming or not"? Luke said as he was waiting on Becca's front porch.

The two of us then quickly caught up to Luke. Becca then quickly locked the front door and whispered a quick goodbye to her house.

As we both got in the backseat of Luke's pickup truck I saw that Becca had tears in her eyes.

"Luke what the hell is going on"? I said. I hated seeing my best friend so terrified.

"Look guys, I really shouldn't be the one to explain this to you guys, I'm not the Alpha" he said, but once the word 'Alpha' left his mouth, he instantly clamped his hand over his mouth and mumbled a quiet "shit".

"Forget I said that okay" he said looking at us through his rearview mirror.

"C-can you at least t-tell us where we're going"? Becca asked quietly.

Luke sighed before he answered. "We're meeting Ash, Michael and Calum at my cottage".

"Why a cottage"? I asked.

"They won't track us east, my cottage is about 4 hours east of here" he said shrugging.

"Luke who's they"? Becca whispered.

"I'll explain everything once we arrive Bec, I promise" he said turning around and putting his hand on her leg. "Why don't you two rest, you've got a rough couple days ahead of you".

I only nodded in response. Already feeling myself dozing off.

As I felt sleep consuming me, I heard Luke quietly mumble to himself.

"We all have rough days ahead of us".
