I do not own Harry Potter ... but what did they do with the Horntail after it went down? Did it die? Did they just leave it there?

__________<>__________

Bel had been sat up in the staff and guest portion of the stands whilst the first challenge commenced.

The entire time she had been on the edge of her seat with one hand placed inside the inner pocket of her coat, gripping onto her wand, prepared to step in at a second's notice.

Cedric went first.

Each time the Swedish Short Snout got too close for comfort, Bel would look to Dumbledore sat beside her for conformation that she was needed.

All he would do is shake his head to let her know that she was to remain seated.

And Bel did as she was told.

Remained seated, keeping a careful eye on the dragons, focus intact, waiting for orders.

Around her, everyone else seemed to be relishing in the entertainment the challenge was providing.

Cornelius Fudge was sat on the other side of Dumbledore and had tried to engage in small talk with Bel for a while, but she used the excuse of being needed to tend to the dragons to get out of it.

Professor McGonagall was sat to the other side of Bel and was sharing in her anxiousness whilst watching the challenge unfold.

Professor Snape, who was next to McGonagall, kept a stone-cold expression on the entire time.

On the row behind them was Barty Crouch, Professor Moody, Rita Skeeter, Hagrid, Madam Maxine, and Igor Karkaroff.

The only person Bel had made eye contact with when she glanced over her shoulder was Professor Moody.

She desperately wanted to ask him if he had been able to help Harry at all.

Especially since, after Fleur and Krum both completed their challenge, Bel came to the horrifying realization that Harry had chosen the Hungarian Horntail to compete against.

It really didn't help the jitters she was already feeling or the struggle to keep a level head so she could do her duty and step in when needed.

To keep her focus so she could deal with the main source of danger and keep everyone as safe as possible.

Knowing Harry was going up against the roughest and most violent of the dragons made that next to impossible.

Bel had the feeling she would need to force herself to stay in her seat when it came to Harry's challenge.

If the smallest thing went wrong, she would be tempted to step in to help whether Dumbledore gave her the signal or not.

But she had to remember that things would go slightly wrong. It was a dangerous challenge, after all. It wasn't supposed to be easy.

Cedric, Fleur, and Krum had all failed to walk away without a scratch. They were each slightly beaten up, but not horribly injured, and still succeeded.

So Bel just needed to calm down, and have faith in her best friend.

Perhaps even try and enjoy herself like the multitude of students all packed into the stands around the stadium were.

Bel had spotted Fred and George walking around taking bets, Ron and Hermione were stood with Ginny and Neville, Malfoy was with his usual gang of Slytherin morons, and her own Hufflepuff friends were surrounded by the rest of her house, holding up signs to support Cedric.
