I do not own Harry Potter ... but if I did the maze would've had some more original moves than just chasing people with roots and bushes like c'mon

__________<>__________

Harry had been in the maze for all of twenty minutes before things started to go wrong.

Initially, it appeared to be a rather dark, foggy, mass of twists and turns around constant, never-ending walls of bush.

Tedious, certainly. One could get lost easily and it would take time to navigate the location of the cup.

But while tedious, it was not dangerous.

However, there was still fear.

The atmosphere was unsettling. Always feeling as though there was something lurking just behind your shoulder no matter what direction you turned in.

There was no noise apart from the rustling sounds of the maze whenever a breeze brushed over it.

And there was the knowledge that it wasn't just a maze.

There were dangers hiding in there somewhere.

Harry just hadn't come across one yet.

And with every step he took, his chances of encountering one increased.

The only thing that allowed him to find the bravery to take those steps was the knowledge that Bel would be there in an instant if anything were to go wrong.

If he came across a challenge he couldn't get out of himself, she would be there to help.

But just what challenges would there be that he couldn't handle?

If he kept his wits about him, and stayed focused, he would be able to make his way through as much of this maze as he needed until one of them found the cup and this was all over.

Whether it was him or someone else didn't really matter to Harry as he took his steps through the dark, twisted maze.

All he wanted was to be back in a less unsettling atmosphere, surrounded by his supporting friends and his recovered and safe girlfriend who could actually be his girlfriend.

That was the prize he was aiming for.

Again, another comforting thought Harry kept in the front of his mind as he tried to ignore the creepy feeling he got as he headed further into the maze.

Twenty minutes sure didn't feel like twenty minutes as he did so.

It felt like hours had passed until he heard a noise in the not-so-far distance that completely rid him of the notion that this maze wasn't dangerous.

It was a scream.

Particularly, a girls scream.

Which meant it came from Fleur.

Given Harry had heard it near to him, his instincts kicked in and he found himself immediately heading in its direction quickly.

Running as fast as he could down numerous pathways until he heard more than just the rustling of the bushes.

He heard other footsteps.

Bringing himself to a stop, Harry tucked himself close into one of the bushes and tried to silence his breathing.

Not knowing just which dangers lied within the maze, he realized that whatever scream he heard might have been a trick.

It might have been a trap, and he almost ran straight into it.
