I do not own Harry Potter ... but I used to be convinced that Beauxbatons was all girls and Durmstrang was all boys but apparently they're mixed?

Riley had been spot on.

After the Hogwarts students had finished singing their school song, the faces of the Beauxbatons and Durmstrangs indeed looked traumatised and very confused as to what they had just witnessed.

Each of the Hogwarts students rushed to sit back down and let the feast begin.

There had been two separate tables set up on opposite sides at the front of the hall for the Beauxbatons and Durmstrang students to sit down at, leaving the Hogwarts students to gossip all about them.

"Don't think we didn't see that one Durmstrang guy wink at you, May", Riley giggled as they all made their way through their meal.

"Did you? I hardly noticed", Bel replied, refusing to meet her nosy friends' eyes.

"I, for one, fully support you going after a Durmstrang opposed to ... other options", Tia commented, turning around slightly to look at the Gryffindor table, specifically at a boy with mid-length dark hair and a lightning bolt scar.

"And I support you going after a Beauxbaton opposed to other options", Bel responded, glancing over to the Slytherin table, specifically at a girl with a black bob and stout nose.

"And I want to make it clear that I don't support you going after anyone", Cedric chimed in, handing Bel one of her favourite bread rolls.

"Neither do I", Patrick added, glancing over to his younger sister.

The two fourth year girls rolled their eyes before silently returning to their meals.

It didn't take much longer for the next round of announcements to begin.

"Your attention please! I'd like to say a few words" Dumbledore called out.

Everyone in the Great Hall ceased their eating and turned to face forwards.

There was now a new small wooden platform placed there, on top of which stood a golden tower, decorated in all sorts of elegant patterns.

"Eternal glory. That is what awaits the student who wins the Triwizard Tournament. But to do this, that student must survive three tasks. Three extremely dangerous tasks", the headmaster said.

Bel tried her best to keep a blank expression on her face.

She, of course, knew all about these tasks.

In fact, her own magic had been used to help organise most of them.

And she agreed with Dumbledore that they were extremely dangerous.

In the process of negotiating and decision making surrounding just which tasks would be selected, Bel was shocked at some of the ideas that came up.

Many of them made the actual ones chosen look easy.

Which helped to put her mind at ease knowing there might have been a much more dangerous fate set up for those chosen to compete.

Beside her, Cedric and Patrick were sharing a very excited glance whilst Tia perked up slightly, clearly having it in her mind that she would be allowed to volunteer.

But her hopes were about to be squandered.

"For this reason, the ministry has seen fit to impose a new rule. To explain all this, we have the head of the Department of International Magical Cooperation, Mr Bartemius Crouch", Dumbledore started to explain.
