I do not own Harry Potter ... but if I did Hermione would not have been crying by herself on those stairs (my heart broke for her)

__________<>__________

Short, sweet, and perfect.

Three simple words to describe Bel's first kiss.

The moment Harry pulled himself back, removing his soft lips from hers, they stared into each other's eyes to try and gage was the other was thinking.

What they found was the exact same thing going on within themselves.

Bashful, flustered, discovered, relieved, whole.

Bel hadn't felt truly accomplished in a long time.

In everything she had experienced or undertaken, she was still working to fully achieve.

Whether that be good things like establishing new friendships, finding out about her mother, or saving hurt creatures in the forest.

Whether that be bad things like training her wand into submission, training herself to not be weak or becoming like her father, or living up to her chosen titles.

But her personal and secret goal to become more than friends with Harry Potter had just happened.

And she had to admit, it was the one her heart was most desperate to achieve.

"I've been wanting to do that for ... a while", Harry spoke first.

His voice was quiet and nervous, highlighting the fact that they were now in unexplored territory.

"But you didn't for the same reasons I didn't", Bel replied.

With her answer, she showed him they were on the same page and had been the entire time.

Petrified of the bad changes it could bring, but desperate to discover the good ones too.

And it seems like, for once, the good things triumphed over the bad things.

After all, both Harry and Bel not only deserved, but were longing to have something good to experience.

What better than something shared between them?

"And now we have ... what do we do?" Harry asked.

"What happened to 'not getting ahead of ourselves'?" Bel retaliated, pointing out what Harry had to say the day he asked her to the ball.

"Right. We have time to answer those sorts of questions later on."

"There will be plenty of questions and plenty of answers that we get to decide on. But in the wise words of my closest friend – let's just treat this as it is."

"Wise you say?"

"In certain lights. Sometimes he can be exceedingly stupid and put his life in danger as a result."

"That's such a coincidence. Because my closest friend is exceedingly good-natured and saves his life every single time."

"Sounds like they're perfectly matched."

"Have been since birth apparently."

"Something that neither wants to lose, no matter what."

"Something that they won't lose, no matter what."

After Harry had corrected her with so much certainty, he squeezed her hands gently.

A moment Bel allowed herself to become immersed in.
