I do not own Harry Potter ... but if I did Cedric would still be alive
__________<>__________
After bringing Fleur back and handing her over to those who could properly attend to her state, Bel had taken up position directly in front of the last place she had seen Harry.
Pacing up and down over and over again in front of the now closed entrance to the maze he had disappeared behind had started to make her legs ache, but not as badly as her neck from the repeated times she tilted her head back to look up to the sky in search of any further red sparks.
At this point, she wasn't concerned about drawing attention from the crowd to herself.
Everyone was either engaged in bets or conversation with one another, looking out to the maze for any sign of movement, or looking over to where Fleur was now sat, awake and quite shaken up.
With every second that passed by, Bel found herself becoming more and more on edge.
It was a good thing that she hadn't been called on to help again, but without the other champions in her sights, she couldn't help but think the worst.
What if they were so injured they weren't able to cast the spell?
Harry had to do it for Fleur. What happened if he was currently being dragged into darkness by the maze? What happened if Cedric was being crushed by the violent bushes and roots?
Bel had no idea what challenges awaited them; she had no part in setting them up. What might they be facing trying to get to the Triwizard Cup?
To try and ease her mind, Bel had been tempted to approach Professor Moody to make him tell her what he had organized and where he had hidden the cup.
However, ever since she had been in the hospital wing, the DADA professor had been rather distant.
Understandably. Bel kept his involvement in her unforgivable curses training a secret for a reason. His reputation and job were on the line.
Hence why he didn't make eye contact with her in any of their DADA classes, speak a word to her when they passed by one another, even now as he stood on the opposite side of the field to her, he didn't look her way once.
However, there were other people who were looking her way.
Bel caught sight of Hermione and Ron beckoning her over to where they were sat near the front of the stands.
If she couldn't get answers to calm herself, she would need a distraction instead, so she decided to join them.
"What's taking so long?" the Hufflepuff asked with concern as she stood at the end of the row of Gryffindor students.
"We were going to ask you the same thing", Ron replied.
"I was sidelined for this one. Dumbledore didn't want me involved."
"And rightly so", Hermione pointed out.
"Meaning ... I have no clue what they're up against in there", Bel finished what she was going to say, returning her focus to the entrance Harry had gone through, and then the one that sealed off Cedric.
"It can't be all that bad. It's a bloody bush, surely they'd have found the cup somewhere by now without getting slapped about with some leaves", said Ron.
"Tell that to Fleur", Bel chose to reply, all three of them looking over to where Fleur was rocking back and forth, arms wrapped around her body tightly, staring off into nothingness.
