Part 40

*Lourdes' P.O.V*

"Babe let's go!" Carlos yelled from the bottom of the stairs.

"I'm coming!" I yelled back as I put my last earing on. Carlos told me he had reservations to this fantastic, and rediculously expensive restaurant yesterday so how could I say no? He's the sweetest boyfriend you can ask for! I walked down the stairs and when Carlos saw me his eyes grew big as he looked me up and down and his mouth opened so big I can probably fit a person in there! It kinda made me self conscious.

"What?" I said while looking down.

"Is it too much?" I said now worried.

"You look beautiful" he said while kissing me.

"Let's go!" He said while opening the door for me. He was a little more quiet than usual on our ride to the restaurant and even when we were there he seemed a little distracted.

"Carlos honey are you okay?" I asked as I took his hand. He just nodded and just as I was about to ask him what was really wrong, he asked for the cheque. It came a minute later and he motioned for me to come outside. I look at him and he just keeps looking at the ground. We keep walking in a calming silence and then he suddenly tells me to stop. I do as he says.

"Put your hands out like this." He tells me while demonstrating what he wanted me to do. I did as he said hesitantly. He whistled and a few seconds later, this small helicopter flew into my hands. It had a small box attached to it. I could hear my heart beating so loud already.

"What is th-" I begin to say but he put his finger on my mouth. He pulls my hand lightly, gesturing me to follow him and he brings me into the car.

"I'll explian once we get there, and don't touch the box" he said with a smirk plastered on his face. I just nodded slightly and just looked down at the hellicopter in my hands. It wasn't long until he stopped the car and parked it. I looked up and saw that we were at the beach. Not really what I was expecting since it's I don't know 8 o'clock!

"Why are we here?" I asked when he opened the door for me.

"You'll see" he said with a smirk. I just rolled my eyes playfully and he took my hand. We walked and it was really peaceful. He looked at the sand and suddenly stopped walking.

"Carlos please tell me what's going on." I said exasperated. I was getting tired of his wierd behaviour. He looked up and looked right into my eyes and just stared at me with glowing eyes.

"Can you at least tell me why we're here?" I said. He smiled and pointed to the sand that was on my right. I looked at where he pointing. There was a snall envelope.

"What's this for?" I said as I picked it up.

"Open it." He said. I opened it and it said 'walk 20 paces to your right' This is exciting! I did as it said and each time there was a block with a letter on it and I had to collect each one. The fourteenth one said 'Go back to where you started!' And it had a block with a question mark on it. I gathered all of them and brought them over to where Carlos was standing, laughing while watching me.

"What's so funny?" I asked while putting down all the blocks I collected.

"You're so cute when you're focused and excited." He said with a chuckle.

"Okay so they have number on the top" and he showed me where they were located.

"Put them in order and it will explain everything." I just nodded and put them in order. I got up and actually read what I spelled out. I gasped and looked at Carlos with wide eyes. I then looked at the hellicopter in his hand. The small box. His disractedness in the restaurant. His nervousness. It all fit in. He then got on his knees, took the box out of the hellicopter, and said the words that the blocks spelt. "Will you marry me?" I nodded and started crying with joy.

"REALLY?!" He asked disbelievingly. I nodded again and laughed and picked me up while spinning me around. I just laughed and enjoyed the joy of the moment. I will be spending the rest of my life with my soul mate, Carlos Roberto Pena Jr.
