The first few days after that one fateful evening, Y/N was a mess. Her mind was all over the place, yet at other times, completely silent.

Any attempt to wrap her head around the situation she currently found herself in resulted in either tears of hopelessness, of frustration, or she's screaming her lungs out for them to let her go.

Then, came the silence. The deadly calm as the weight of the situation finally sunk in.

It happened only once, and the thought had only crossed Y/N's mind for a brief second, but it was enough to have all eight of them appear in her room immediately.

Worry was clear on all of the girl's faces, but not only that, panic was as well. The thought of losing Y/N, after finally having her with them after all this time, after all of their meticulous planning, had a fear unlike any other washing over them.

Y/N yelled at them then, screamed at them with a burning fire in her eyes as they crowded her. They needed to let her breathe. The constant checking up on her, asking if she was going to be okay was really grating on her nerves.

At least Y/N knew they cared. At least what they told her, about only wanting what’s best for her, about wanting to love and cherish her all seemed to be true.

There was no doubt about it, not when Rosé would bring Y/N her favourite meals almost every day just to make sure she had eaten something.

The first few times were a bit annoying, seeing as how Rosé wouldn’t leave her alone until Y/N had at least a few bites of food, but at least Rosé knew she was eating.

Similarly, Lisa would always make sure Y/N had a fresh jug of water in her room.

Every day, Lisa would make sure Y/N drank at least two full glasses to keep herself hydrated, making Y/N whatever other drinks she wanted when she wanted them.

Unless Y/N were planning to get herself drunk. Then Lisa wouldn’t exactly comply with her wishes.

Irene would offer to read to Y/N to take her mind off of things, but Y/N still yet to accept her offer. Irene would pout, but place whatever book she brought with her on Y/N's nightstand, at least giving her something to do to take her mind off of things for a while.

An escape, if only briefly, that would give Y/N some semblance of normalcy after being thrown into a world unlike any other.

Jennie and Sana would always attempt to cheer Y/N up in any and every way they knew how. Their antics, unfortunately for Y/N, would sometimes work, unable to stop herself from cracking a small smile at their banter back and forth, or some stupid joke they would tell her in attempts to make her laugh.

Mina was probably the most respectful out of giving Y/N the privacy she so desperately craved, except when Y/N would start thinking about when she needed or wanted something. Then Mina would be the first one to appear with said item held in her hands, bringing her ice cream more often than not in the middle of the night when Y/N were truly feeling sorry for herself and the situation she found herself in.

Mina always lingered for a bit, silently hoping Y/N would ask her to stay and comfort her, but Y/N never did.

Honestly, it was probably for the best, anyways. They all were probably the last people Y/N really wanted to see at this point in time.

Still, Y/N refused so much as even looking at Jisoo or Nayeon. Each time they passed by her room to check up on her, she would pointedly ignore them, curling in on herself until they would sigh deeply and finally leave her alone.

Two weeks later, and Y/N decide that she had enough. Finally, it’s time to stop feeling sorry for herself, and take whatever control she can back in her own life.

No more wasting her days alone, in the dark, with only self-pity to keep herself company. If they truly intend to put their money where their mouths are, then Y/N's going to test that every chance she gets.

After all, if they are ready and willing to do anything and everything for Y/N to prove to her how much they truly love and care for her, how much they want - need - her in their lives, then she's going to make them prove themselves to her.

Perhaps she holds more power in this situation than she originally thought.

Letting out a sigh, Y/N allows her mind to go blank, humming a small tune to herself as she tosses the covers off of her legs.

First things first, Y/N really need a bath. Perhaps some self-love and personal care will end up going a long way.

Sinking into the warmth of the frothing bubbles, she hum. Again, the calming scent of lilac and honey drifts through her nostrils, the water serving to relax her tense muscles and soothe her mind.

Y/N figure she's going to need all the rest she can get in the next twenty or so minutes as she prepares herself for what she's about to do.

Sure enough, twenty minutes later and Y/N has finished washing up, dried herself off, and changed into a fresh pair of clothes.

Briefly, she shoots a tense smile at herself in the mirror, mentally preparing herself for what she's sure is going to be a shitstorm as soon as she steps outside of her room.

Turning towards the door, Y/N take a few cautious steps forward. Taking a deep breath, she turns the handle, exiting these four walls that she has familiarized herself with over the past two weeks.

Finally, after hiding herself away for so long, wallowing in her own thoughts, Y/N step outside the room, crossing the threshold into the hallway and feeling as if she's stepping into a new life. Which, in reality, she is.
