Part 23

"Do we really have to go?" Sana whines, a pout tugging at her lips.

Jennie exhales a long breath through her nose. "Believe me, I want to go about as much as you do right now."

"Shouldn't one of us stay back at least?" Rosé voices out, brow quirked ever so slightly as she looks around at her sisters. Of course, she's hoping that she'll be able to be the one to keep Y/N company once more as her sisters deal with whatever they have to at this council meeting.

"For the last time, it's unavoidable." Nayeon sighs. "We should just focus on why the council has been summoned for now."

"Yeah, and how quickly we can get back here." Irene mumbles, arms crossed in front of her chest.

Jisoo grimaces, adjusting the collar of her fitted dress. "Well, from past events we know it'll take at least an hour and a half."

Lisa placed the beret hat onto her head before she speaks. "The sooner we can get this over with, the sooner we can get back here." she said. She doesn't like this anymore than her sisters do, and if they could stay home with Y/N, they would.

"Agreed." Mina huffs, smoothing out the back of her skirt.

Currently, all eight of them stand in the middle of the foyer, putting the last final touches on their outfits for the evening. Since the council hasn't been summoned in quite some time, they have to wear their 'official' all black looks, complete with their hats. Each of their clothes may vary in style, but collectively, they all complement one another, truly looking like the leaders of the realm that they are always meant to be.

A moment of silence passes by.

"I should probably go tell her that we're leaving." Irene said, already taking a step towards Y/N's room where the human has been cooped up all day leading up to this evening.

However, a hand on her shoulder prevents her from moving more than one step forward. "I'll go tell her." Lisa practically shoves Irene behind her as she goes to step past her.

"Like hell you are." Mina glares at the taller girl as she moves to step in front of Lisa to block her path.

"If anyone is telling Y/N we're leaving, it'll be me." Jisoo nearly rolls her eyes as she moves the two girls out of her way to begin walking towards the hallway that will lead to their beloved's room.

Only, Nayeon's hand flying out in front of Jisoo suddenly halts her in her tracks. "Will you all calm down." her eyes narrowed. "Listen."

Sure enough, when they focus back on their surroundings they can hear the familiar sound of a footsteps drawing near. Y/N seemed to be walking at a leisurely pace, only causing them each to hold their breaths as she approaches them.

"Oh shi-" As soon as Y/N rounds the corner to see them all standing there, she freezes in her tracks. Her breath immediately catches, words dying in her throat as she blinks a few times at them almost in shock. Then, she snorted out a mild laugh as she gripped the book she had held in her arms more firmly. "You girls are really doing wonders to fight against those cult allegations."

Sana snorts out a laugh with Y/N, grins tugging onto Lisa's, Rosé's, and Jennie's faces while the others straighten slightly in their spots. Each begins to feel that telltale sense of pride within their chests at the way their beloved is continuously looking at them.
