[Command Center]
We head to command center, "It appears Centipede is responsible for Mr. Chan's kidnapping" Coulson informs Fitzsimmons and May
"First LA, now Hong Kong. What kind of organization are we dealing with?" Ward asks
"International, well financed, interested in creating a super soldier. Let's hope finding Mr. Chan will provide some answers. Using the account information Mr. Lydon gave us, SHIELD HQ believe he's being held here" Coulson says
"Any idea what Centipede wants with Chan?" May asks
"Hard to say, but Simmons thinks that considering he's pyrokinetic—" Fitz starts
"There's a good chance his genetics could stabilize the EXTREMIS element of the Centipede serum" Simmons explains
"Keep the test subjects from going—" Fitz starts, "Boom!" Simmons finishes
"If Mr. Chan is Centipede's lab rat, we need to get there before the experiment's over" Coulson says
[Cargo Hold]
As Ward and I are suiting up, "Agent May and I will be handling the field work. You two stay and oversee the prisoners" Coulson tells us
"Sir?" Ward and I ask
Coulson turns around, "We were Skye's S.O's it was our responsibility—" Coulson cuts me off, "It was my call to bring Skye onto the plane. And you warned me against it, Ward. My problem, I fix it" Coulson says before walking away
[Later on]
Coulson radios in and he needs help from Skye. Ward and I get to the interrogation room, "Coulson's in trouble" Ward tells Skye as I unlock her cuffs as Ward grabs Lydon
We head to the command center with Fitzsimmons, "The entire facility's been locked down" Simmons says
"Are you sure about this?" Fitz asks
"No" Ward and I say
"The alarms disconnected the system from all exterior servers" Skye says
"Can you fix it or not?" Ward asks
"Yes, but you've gotta get me on site" Skye says
"No way" Ward says as Lydon says, "Not a chance" as I say, "Hell no"
The three of us look at each other, "You're a hacker, Skye. Not SEAL Team Six" Lydon says
"No..." Skye looks at Ward and I, "...but they are" Skye says
[Centipede Facility]
"Where are we on the doors?" May asks
"Almost there" Ward says as we fight the guards
Once they're knocked out, I grab Skye and we make it to the server room. Skye sits at the computer and starts working, Ward and I leaning over her shoulders, "How long is this gonna take?" Ward asks
"Done" Skye says and stands up
"Hmm" I say
We all then make it out of the building before Chan explodes. We all stare at the explosion, "Skye managed to extract some files from the building's mainframe. It's not much, but could get us a fix on Centipede" I say
"Maybe" Coulson says
"You can't save someone from themselves, sir" Ward says
"You can if you get to them early enough" Coulson says as we look at Skye
[Common Area: Bar]
Ward and I are sitting at the bar when May comes and pours us drinks, "Make it a double" Ward says
"Same here" I say
"Is there any other kind?" May tells us
I grab the glass, "So I'm going to Coulson's office now. Figured you guys might wanna be there, being my S.O's and all" Skye says from behind us
"I'm off the clock" Ward says
"Thanks for the drink, May" I say ignoring Skye before I start to walk away
"Right. Okay, then" I hear Skye say before I walk into my bunk
[Bunk]
It's been a little since seeing Skye as I'm finishing my third glass of bourbon. I can handle my liquor so I'm not drunk but I'm still so angry at Skye. She betrayed us all for some douchebag that never cared about her in the first place.
I'm brought out of my thoughts when there's a knock on my door, "Unless you're a bottle of bourbon, go away" I say
The door opens and reveals Skye holding a bottle of whiskey, "Does whiskey count?" She asks
"Go away, Skye" I tell her
She comes in and places the bottle on the table before sitting down next to me, "I know you hate me right now after what I did but I wanted to tell you how sorry I am. I betrayed the team's trust but more importantly I betrayed your trust and I'm truly sorry" She tells me
"I trusted you Skye, I trusted you. I told you about my moment, which was personal, I haven't told anyone about that before. I trusted you with that and you betrayed me, Skye" I tell her getting angry
"I know—I know. If I could go back and change what happened, I would. I never wanted to betray you like that, Cassie" She tells me
I can't look at her, I know if I do, I'll forgive her. We sit there in silence for a few minutes before I take a sip of my drink, "You know I risked my career today when I defended you to Coulson" I tell her
"I know and I'll never now how to make it up to you" She says and looks down
I glance at her, "Next time you're gonna go rouge, loop me in" I say
"What?" She asks
"I'm your S.O, one of them at least, so if you're gonna do something against protocol, tell me so I can be there. Protect you and make sure something like this doesn't happen again" I tell her
