[Bunks]
Skye and I are packing all of Hartley's belongings. Skye is sitting on the ground, packing the suitcase and I'm cleaning out the closet, "Izzy's sister, Jane" I turn to see Skye looking at a picture and Hunter leaning against the doorway. He sits down on the bed, "Her favorite person in the world. After me, of course" He says
"Looks like they liked each other" Skye says
"Yeah. Those two, when they got together, there was a lot of laughs and bottles of wine. Izzy was good when it came to family. Which is why I'm taking this" He grabs the necklace, "Belonged to their mum. Died of breast cancer about five years back. Jane has it now, too" He explains
"That's awful" Skye says
"Yeah. Life can be a mean drunk that way. Never knows when to stop punching" He says
I lean against the wall, "How'd you guys meet?" I ask
"Through my psychotic ex-wife" He jokes as Skye and I laugh, "Those two were good friends back in the day" He says
"I'm really sorry. Tough to lose people you care about" Skye says
"Secret to that? Don't get attached" He says
"Tried that" She glances at me, "Didn't work. For you either" She says and motions to the necklace
He chuckles, "You know, you remind me a bit of Izzy. Raw but sharp. You got skills. Type that could earn you some real money in the private sector" He says
"As a mercenary? Yeah, I don't think so" Skye says
"We prefer the term, private military contractors" He stands up, heading towards the door, "Don't know it. Everyone needs an exit strategy eventually" He says
"Not me. SHIELD's my life now" Skye says
"SHIELD isn't a life. It's just a job. Means to an end. Remember that. You hear anything more about Creel, let me know" He says before walking out
Skye looks at me, "You think he's right?" She asks
"I don't really trust anything that man says" I joke
"Seriously, Cass" She says
I sigh before walking over and sitting down next to her, "I think that the SHIELD we once knew isn't the SHIELD we work for now. Is that a good thing? I don't know but I do know that my life is with you so as long as we're together, I'm happy" I tell her
She places a kiss on my lips before laying her head on my shoulder, "Thank you" She whispered
[Coulson's Office]
Skye and I walk into the office to see May and Trip there with Coulson, "You remember that encrypted HYDRA frequency we shut down? Well it's back up" Skye says
She shows Coulson the tablet, "Someone sent a message" Coulson says
"A message for us with a phone number to call" I say
"Yeah, it could be Creel" May says
"Creel? A phone number? What, is he lonely?" Trip asks
"I doubt it, the guys jacked. And he can turn any body part into any material" Skye says
"Okay, thank you for that" Coulson says
I raise my eyebrow at Skye, "That's not that cool" I grumble
She kisses my cheek, "Jealous much?" She whispers
"I'm not jealous at all. I'm way better looking" I whisper
She smirks, "Yes you are" She whispers
"Okay, stop flirting you two and call the number" Coulson tells us
"Okay" Skye says as I say, "Sorry, sir"
