[Hotel]
We are looking through the files, outside at the table at the hotel, "Garrett started Project Deathlok way back in 1990. Look at this. He was Patient Zero" Coulson says
"We've been look at all this backwards. Garrett doesn't just want GH-325 for his Centipede soldiers, he wants it for himself. So he can become a real live boy again. And if he happens to create an army of programmed super soldiers for Hydra along the way, triple bonus points" Skye tells us
"How do we know Garrett didn't do that to Ward, too? Maybe he's been programed" Fitz says
"Fitz, when are you gonna stop clinging to the idea that Ward's the victim and not the perpetrator?" Simmons asks him
"When I see something that tells me I shouldn't with my own two eyes. We don't know all the facts" Fitz says
"You want a fact, Fitz?" She slams her hands on the table, "Ward murders people. Agent Koenig wasn't the first and he won't be the last. I mean for god sake, he almost murdered Cassandra" I place my hand over hers to calm her down, "I should've let Mike finish him when I had the chance" She looks at me before backing away slightly, "I'm stupid and weak" She says
"You weren't weak. You had compassion. That's harder" Coulson says
I look at her, "You are not weak, Skye. Don't ever think like that, don't let him make you think you are not the strong, brave Skye I know you are" I tell her
Skye gives me a small smile, "King's right, Skye. And we're gonna find him" Coulson says
"Pizza delivery for Pablo Jimenez!" We hear
"That's me!" Coulson says before Skye walks away
I watch as Skye walks away, knowing that she feels like this is her fault, blaming herself for not seeing it sooner, for being trick by him. I want nothing more then to go in there and tell her it's not her fault, she's not to blame. To take away all her pain and for her to know that this isn't on her.
I sigh, knowing she needs time and decide to eat with the team and hope she comes back out.
[Later on]
After we were all done eating and Skye hadn't come out, May went in to talk to her. After a bit, May walked out and gave me a look, letting me know I should go in. I decide to grab two beers before heading into the room. I open the door to see her sitting on the bed before I walk over, "You never came out to eat" I say
I hand her the beer as I sit down, "Not much of an appetite" She says
"Look. Fitz can't process the truth about Ward. Not yet. What he said, it's what he needs to believe" I tell her
"Do you think Ward's being controlled?" She asks
"Absolutely not" I tell her
She turns towards me, "Neither do I. You know, I never gave you enough credit for your whole calm composure. But I got to admit, it'd be nice to feel nothing right now" She says
"You think I don't feel anything?" I ask her
"If you are, you're no showing it. I mean, Ward tried to kill you and I've barley even seen you show that it has affected you. How are you not just enraged by how Fitz keeps defending him? After everything Ward has done, you two were my SO's and you two actually became friends which I didn't even think was possible. So if anyone should be furious, I mean, other than May but she's a whole other..." She rambles
"I am. I'm furious, trust me. And yes, how Fitz is defending Ward infuriates me but it's what he believes, he hasn't seen the true Ward yet, but when he does, he'll come to his senses" I take a breath, "When I woke up, in that closet, knowing that you were with Ward, I didn't care if I was on the brink of death, all I wanted to do was find Ward so I could put him down. After they found me, and Ward's betrayal was real, there was this anger inside of me that I hadn't felt since I touched that staff. You can ask Coulson, I blew up at the fact that there was nothing I could do to save you" I grab her hand, "But Coulson, he made me realize, that the anger I was feeling needed to be focused on one thing, finding you, so that's what I did. I'm saving my anger, letting it build up so when we find do Ward, I'm gonna use every bit of it to tear him to pieces" I tell her
"You were dying, and instead of worrying about that, the only thing you were worried about was me being safe?" She asks
"Of course. I care about you, Skye" I tell her
She leans forward, "I care about you too, Cass" She places a kiss on my lips, "And I'm gonna hold you to the whole, ripping him to pieces part, when we find him" She tells me
I chuckle slightly, "Aye aye, captain" I joke before I pull her into another kiss
Then there's a knock on the door so we break apart before Coulson comes in, "Trip ID'd a number of Cybertek shipments that ping-ponged across the globe. Brazil, Cambodia, Syria, but they all ended up in Havana" He says
"SHIELD used to have a base there" I say
He looks at Skye, "I told you we'd find him. We're going to Cuba" He tells us
[Havana, Cuba]
We are all in the hanger, gearing up to search for the plane, "Because ew had to fly in low, we'll have to search for our plane from the ground. Fitz, Simmons, you have the maps. Do not engage under any circumstances. If you find the bus, call us and stand down, or come back here and wait" Coulson orders
"We'll be careful" Simmons says as Fitz says, "Understood, sir"
"Let's do it" Coulson says
[Barbershop]
Coulson, May, Skye, and I are waiting in the van as we see Trip walk out, "We're too late. They're gone" Coulson says
"They knew we were coming" May says
"I'm not sure everyone's gone. Something's generating a lot of volts in there" Skye says as Trip gets back in the van
Then Coulson's phone rings, "Yeah?" He asks, "We're on our way. How far is that from our location?" He asks, "Get out of there, right now. Do not engage. Wait for us back at the Jumpjet" He says
He hangs up the phone and looks at us, "Garrett's leaving" He says
"We have to at least try and get over there" May says
"Or not. We still have this little puppy" She holds up the flash drive, "If there's a computer system in that barber shop, we don't have to chase them anymore. We just plug it in, we wake up the Trojan horse, and we're off to the races" Skye says
"Worth a shot" I say
"Let's do it" Coulson says
[Inside the Barbershop]
As we made our way inside and down into the basement, we notice it is empty, "Skye, where are the computers?" May asks
"I'm working on it" She says
"Trip, got anything in your grandad's kit that might help us out here?" Coulson asks
"Always. Let me take a look" Trip says
He grabs out a tablet scanner, "Come on. Over here" We walk over, "There's something behind this wall. Okay, I got something" Trip says
"A secret door?" We look at him, "I got this. They're, like, my thing" Coulson says
He gets it open as we draw our weapons, "Here we go" I say
We see computers, "Finally" Skye says
Then the lights go out, we turn to see a soldier holding a staff. The moment I see it light up, I know exactly what weapon it is, "Not that damn staff again" I whisper
"It's a Centipede soldier" Coulson says
Then we see more eyes light up, "Not just one" I whisper
