Finally Falling

Chapter 28

[Bus]

I was getting in a workout in my bunk since Ward and May were using the cargo hold to spar. I was doing mostly abs and core exercises, and some arms. I was getting sweaty so I took my top off since I was in my bunk by myself. That is until there's a knock on my door. I stop my workout, "Come in" I say

The door opens and I see Skye standing there. I see her look down my body, focusing on my abs, "Skye?" She doesn't answer, "Skye?" I ask again

Still no response, "My eyes are up here, Princess" I tell her and she finally looks up

I give her a smile, I see she's all flustered, "I, uh, I..." She rambles

I chuckle slightly, "Is there something you needed me for?" I ask

"Huh? Oh, yeah, right, Coulson needs us in the command center in five" She tells me

I nod my head, "Thanks for telling me" I say

I turn around and put on a clean shirt and some deodorant. When I turn around, Skye's still there, "Is there something else?" I ask

"Huh? Oh, uh, no, that's—that's it" She says before walking out causing me to chuckle slightly

[Command Center]

We're all in the command center as we watch the screen, "At 0800 hours, three men infiltrated the Havenworth Federal Penitentiary" Coulson tells us

"Infiltrated? More like cannon balled" Skye says

"They were in and out in less then two minutes. Left no prints at the scene but we do have one lead" Coulson says and enhances the image

"Centipede" Ward says

"It seems they salvaged some of their research from Hong Kong" Coulson says

"So we were right. Chan's platelets soled their combustion problem. Now they can create super soldiers with no fear of explosion" Simmons says
"Maybe don't get so excited about it" Fitz tells her

"Two of Centipede's labs have been destroyed. But they keep popping back up. Now they have at least three of these guys. Maybe more" Coulson says

"Who'd they break out?" May asks

"Edison Po. Former marine. Expert in tactics and rapid response" He puts his face on the screen, "He fell off the grid in 08, reappeared 18 months ago at a diner in Boston" Coulson says
"Where he stabbed his friend's eyes out" I say
"With a steak knife. Then finished his meal" Coulson says
"That's funny, PO doesn't look crazy" We all look at her, "I'm kidding. The guy is a walking mug shot" Skye says

"Which means he shouldn't be too hard to track down. Finding Po and these Centipede soldiers is a top priority for SHIELD. We'll be running point but we won't be working alone" Coulson says
"What team did HQ send for backup?" Ward asks
"Not a team. A person. Someone who can help us fight fire with fire" Coulson says

"Somebody we worked with before?" Skye asks

"Not exactly" Coulson says

[Bus]

We landed and are waiting for Mike Peterson to arrive. Fitzsimmons, Skye, Ward, and I are in the command center as we watch the video of him again, "It's not good. At all. The guy was a ticking time bomb. Literally" Ward says
"HQ couldn't have sent him if he was still combustible. They must've found a way to stabilize him somehow" Fitz says

"They stabilize his attitude? Cause it was pretty hostile in Union Station" Ward says
"Well, it's not like we haven't opened up our doors to other people. People with questionable track records" Simmons says
