[Afterlife]
Skye and Lincoln are playing a game while I am getting a workout in. Skye is staring off into the distance before Lincoln clears his throat, snapping her back into reality, "Is it my go?" She asks
"You're about a million miles away" Lincoln says
"Sorry. I'm back at dinner" Skye says
"Dinner with my parents can stress me out, too" Lincoln says
"It wasn't stressful exactly" Skye says
"Speak for yourself, princess. I was stressed as fuck, sitting there" I joke as I wipe the sweat from my face
They both chuckle, "Right, meeting the parents, always stressful" Lincoln jokes
"Hey, you seemed pretty calm" Skye says
"That was because I was trying to seem like the badass agent I am but on the inside I was freaking out" I tell her, placing a kiss on her forehead
She chuckles softly, before looking back at Lincoln, jumping back into their conversation, "I mean, I didn't wanna see Cal, let alone be in the same room with him. I was sure he was gonna have some twisted surprise. Be he didn't. It was nice" Skye says
I sit down on the chair next to them, "That's good. Isn't it?" Lincoln asks
"Did Jiaying tell you that she's sending Cal away? He's not coming back" Skye says
"He doesn't exactly belong here. You think it's a bad idea" Lincoln says
"It's not a good one. He'll get upset and someone will get hurt" Skye says
"Talk to her. She's your mom" Lincoln tells her
"Yeah. It's nice having someone normal to talk to" I scoff and she looks at me, "Besides my beautiful girlfriend of course" She adds
"Why thank you" I joke
They chuckle before Lincoln uses his electricity to move his piece, "You hit me" She jokes
[Jiaying's Office]
Skye took Lincoln's advice so know we're standing outside Jiaying's office. Skye knocks on the door before opening it to see Gordon in there as well, "Sorry. Didn't mean to interrupt" Skye says
"No, we're finished here" Jiaying says
"I'll let you know how it goes" Gordon says before walking out, shutting the door
"Was that about Cal?" Jiaying smiles but doesn't respond, "I wanna talk to you about that. Cal's dangerous, I know. But he's better when he's with us" Skye says
"That may be true, but he can't stay here" Jiaying says
"Could we give him a heads up or—" Jiaying cuts Skye off, "And risk how he gets? You think you've seen him at his worst? You haven't" She says
"That's my point. You know how he'll get when Gordon just abandons him in the middle of nowhere" Skye says
"Not nowhere. We're taking him home" Jiaying says
"It doesn't matter. He will feel abandoned and people will get hurt" Skye says
"Those people aren't my concern" Jiaying says
"They're mine. I'm a SHIELD agent" Skye says
"The longer he stays, the more attention he draws, the more attention he demands. I can't make exceptions. He's not one of us. Sometimes, as a leader, I have to do things I'd rather not do" Jiaying says
[Cal's Room]
Skye knocks on the door, opening it, Cal jumps up, "Hey. Um...Sorry, I was expecting Gordo" Cal says walking over to the door
"He can't like you calling him that" Skye says
