[The Bus - Common Area]
Simmons is checking on Skye's fractures and my burns as Fitz watches, "Good news, you're burns seem to have healed" Simmons says
"Bad news?" I ask
"They've left permanent scars from you neck down to the palms of your hands" She tells me
I look down at my hands to see the scars, "Lovely" I groan
Skye nudges my side, "Don't worry, I think scars are hot" She jokes
I chuckle slightly before Simmons focuses back on Skye, "Well, the bruising has started to fade. Though I'm afraid these stress fractures will require a bit more time to heal" Simmons says
"Great. I tried to go Zen to keep my powers in check, only to find myself...back on the DL" Skye says
"The down low?" Fitz asks
"The disabled list" Skye says
"Oh, yeah, that makes more sense" Fitz says
"Yeah. And now I'm all..." Skye says, moving her casts
"You know, it could just be growing pains. From the new powers" Fitz says
"It's okay, Fitz. You don't have to put a positive spin on this" Skye says
"I'm not doing that. I would never patronize the..." We all look at him, "Well, the...Things chance, that's what I'm saying. So, maybe if you can learn to control this, both of you, then you could have Avengers-level powers. Something like Captain America even" Fitz says
"I think it best we keep in mind the unstable nature of Skye's power. As well as Cassandra's. If there is an Avenger equivalent right now, I'm afraid it's the Hulk" Simmons says
"Well, Hulk saved the world last I checked" Fitz says
"You're absolutely right. But given the choice, I believe Bruce Banner would not hesitate to cure himself once and for all" Simmons says
"Well, then, I guess we should be thankful that nobody's given him the choice" Fitz says
"Oh, Fitz!" Simmons says
"Well, don't, Oh Fitz, me! I'm being..." The room starts to shake and we look at her, my hand rubbing her back to calm her down, "I'm sorry, Skye" Fitz says
"This really isn't about you" Simmons says
"I'm pretty sure it is. I'll go back to the Cage" Skye says before walking away
I look at them, "Thanks for the eval. Could've gone without the Hulk reference, though" I stand up, saluting them, "Till next time" I say before walking away
[The Bus - Cage]
We're back in the cage, trying to keep ourselves busy. Skye is playing Operation while I'm attempting to get a workout in which is kind of difficult when your in a tiny ass room. Skye keeps hitting the side, "Ankle bone's always the toughest" Coulson says, appearing in the doorway
"Yeah. Maybe a game of nerves isn't the best idea for me" Skye says, placing it down
He looks at me, "The three of us ned to take a ride" He tells us
"Okay, but why am I suddenly feeling like Old Yeller right now?" Skye tells him
"Kind of surprised you know the reference" Coulson says
"We've had a lot of down time lately" I say
"That, and Fitz really wants a dog" Skye says
"Thought he wanted a monkey?" Coulson asks
"Guess he re-adjusted his expectations" We look at him, "You can't tell me where we're going, can you?" Skye asks
