"Good afternoon, Mrs Ko how're you doing?" Hyunjin said as he squatted before the woman and placed his hand on her lap.
"I'm fine, how is studies?" She asked with a smile.
"Everything is fine." He replied.
Mrs Ko's gaze went to Sarang and Sarang greeted her immediately. Mrs Ko looked at Hyunjin and Sarang blankly, and then smiled. "Did you come with your girlfriend? Hyunjin."
"Girlfriend? No. This is Hwang Sarang and she's my classmates. She heard a lot about you so she wanted to come and greet you in person." Hyunjin explained.
Mrs Ko raised an eyebrow. "I see. Thank you so much Sarang, you shouldn't have bothered yourself."
Sarang shook her head. "No, it's an honour."
"Please sit, you two."
They sat on the two-seater cushion in the room while Mrs Ko was on her wheelchair opposite them. "I always wanted you and Woojin to bring your girlfriends to me someday but I guess you guys are still young." She said to Hyunjin.
"You have to keep waiting." Hyunjin said. "Until we're grown ups."
Mrs Ko frowned. "By that time I think all my hair will be grey."
"Of course not." Hyunjin said and then smiled. "You'll still look young and fresh like a flower."
"Really? Don't tell me I look like a flower." She said excited.
"You do!" Hyunjin replied. "You look like a fresh blossoming rose."
Mrs Ko chuckled and placed her hand on her chest. "Thank you so much, at least I got to laugh today. My idiot son don't even tell me I look like a flower."
Sarang smiled at how cheerful the woman was, then she turned to Hyunjin and their eyes met. He quickly turned away and cleared his throat. "Mrs Ko I'm here to talk about your surgery again." He said this time around with a very serious look.
The smile of Mrs Ko's face vanished and she walked her wheelchair to the window to stare at the view outside. Hyunjin and Sarang looked at themselves and Sarang nodded her head. He got up from the cushion and squatted before Mrs Ko.
He took her hands but she still didn't look at him. "You know I can't leave you like this in this condition when they's still a chance for you to walk again."
Mrs Ko sighed and looked at him. "Why are you doing this? Why do you keep acting as if you're the only person that's guilty? You were not the one that got me into this condition, why are you covering that friend of yours."
Sarang's eyes widened in surprise, then she shook her head and payed more attention to their conversation. Maybe I'm not hearing well. She said.
Hyunjin sighed and stared at the floor. "I still have part in the accident, I can't say I'm innocent. It was my birthday, we did drink and I let him drive the car even though he was very tipsy."
"You didn't let him drive, Hyunjin. He insisted on driving even though you said you can call a driver." Mrs Ko said, almost like a scold. "You think I don't know everything? I made sure I investigated everything, you don't have any fault in this. Why can't you just drop the charges on him? Where is he?"
"He's studying at a University in Busan. I think he has a lot that's why. . ."
"A lot? Huh, you better stop talking. He doesn't even know whether I'm dead or alive and he had never came to this house to check whether I'm fine or not." She said. "What is his name?"
"Mrs Ko."
"What. Is. His. Name?"
"Lim Seyeon."
"Now tell me one more thing. Why are you covering up for him?" she said.
