The clock mercilessly tickled its way to 2 am. My body tossed and turned on the bed. Thoughts of P'Yin's pained expression lingered persistently in my mind, the way he strained to wear a smile throughout the day, covering the hurt whenever our eyes met.

"Stop dwelling on it, War!" I whispered to myself.

However, the haunting image of P'Yin's pain expression continued to replay in my mind. Frustrated, I finally rose from my bed, determined to confront the turmoil within.

Am I stupid? I think I am...

I left my bedroom and stopped outside P'Yin's room. The darkness within suggested he had sleep. I hesitated, contemplating whether to breach the silence that enveloped his room but the ache in my heart propelled me forward.

My steps led me to the kitchen. The dining table is adorned with an untouched spread, a Thai green curry. I couldn't shake the realization that P'Yin hadn't eaten the dinner he had prepared after I claimed to be full...

I felt conflicted, gratitude for his gesture and guilt for the hurt I had caused. Did he truly cook this for me? The question echoed in my mind...

Leaning against the kitchen counter, I debated about everything. Should I wake P'Yin, apologize for my behavior? The internal struggle continued as I weighed the consequences of each decision. P'Yin's expression, I couldn't forget it...especially when he knew I met P'Earth today...

"Why should you think about P'Yin so much?" I scolded myself.

I sighed softly as I grappled with the whirlwind of emotions. "Why did P'Yin always affect me so deeply?"

Silence.

"Do I mean more to P'Yin than I realize?" I thought...

The morning sun streamed through the curtains. As I approached the kitchen, the enticing aroma of breakfast filled the air. There, at the table was P'Yin, already busy arranging the breakfast.

Our eyes met as I entered. He smiled, causing an involuntary blush to rise to my cheeks. It was a smile that had the power to make my heart skip a beat even at this early hour. I averted my gaze. Oh God, why did P'Yin have to be so captivating especially in the morning?!

"Good morning," P'Yin greeted.

I managed a small nod as I took a seat at the table. P'Yin joined me, settling in front of me.

"So...did you enjoy the dinner I made last night?" P'Yin inquired with genuine excitement as he must have realized I ate the dishes he cooked.

Silence.

I nodded slowly. "I couldn't sleep," I said. "And I couldn't ignore the fact that P'Yin made dinner, so I just ate it," I confessed, hoping my honesty didn't reveal too much.

P'Yin smiled widened and he reached across the table to gently place a hand on mine. "I'm glad you liked it," he said excitedly while holding my hand.

The unexpected touch made me instinctively pull my hand away.

"Oh, I'm-I'm sorry," P'Yin stammered, his enthusiasm dampened by my reaction. "I'm just so happy when I woke up and saw the dishes I made last night almost finished. You really eat a lot," he added, attempting to lighten the mood.

Silence. I nodded slowly, still grappling with the remnants of warmth from P'Yin's touch. Trying to conceal my growing blush, I looked down at my plate, tracing the patterns of the tablecloth with feigned interest.
