...Meanwhile... *Enter Jesse*
Axel, Olivia, Petra, and I came to a stop at the top of the hill, far away from the endermen, at least for now.
"Phew, we made it," Olivia sighed.
"Say, where are Lukas and Ivor?" Axel wondered aloud.
It was then that I realized the two of them weren't with us.
"I don't know," I admitted. "They must still be in there, but we can't risk going back for them. We barely made it out of there ourselves. We've got to find a way to let them know where we are so they can come to us."
"How do you suggest we do that?" Olivia wondered.
I thought about it for a moment, then I remembered;
"I was working on the new display in Beacontown when I suddenly appeared here. I still have one beacon left, and a few blocks to go around it to power it.
"Wouldn't that alert the endermen of our location, too?" Petra asked. "We still don't know what they're after, or why there's so many of them outside of the end."
"She does have a point," Olivia agreed.
"Oof!" I was just about to argue when some invisible force collided with me, nearly knocking me over.
"Oops, sorry!" A familiar voice quickly apologized.
Ivor suddenly appeared in front of me.
"Sorry, I was just trying to get away from those endermen," He explained.
"Did you see Lukas?" I wondered.
"No, I didn't see anyone else back there," Ivor told me.
"Beacon it is, then," I decided, but everyone else still looked skeptical. "Look, I'll only have it up for a second, then I'll take it down. Hopefully Lukas will see it, wherever he is."
"Okay," Olivia relented, taking out some Redstone blocks to use for the base. "But only for a second."
"Let's get building, team," I began, building a small pyramid up and around Olivia's Redstone base, placing the beacon on top.
I let its beam of light pierce the sky for only a moment, then started working on taking it down. Just like that, the beam disappeared, and I picked up the beacon, putting it back in my inventory. Now all we could do was hope and wait.
*Enter Me again*
"Lukas, look!" I gasped as a pillar of light erupted from somewhere in the distance, disappearing as quickly as it appeared.
"A beacon..." He muttered, getting a glimpse of the light just before it vanished.
"It's gone..." I murmured. "That's... odd. Come on, let's go check it out!"
"Isn't that back over by where we started?" Lukas wondered, hesitant.
"Yes..." I nodded, noticing he was right.
"What if it's a trap?" Lukas pressed.
"I don't think the endermen would be able to do something like that, let alone have the blocks to do it," I assured him. "Maybe it's a sign? Beacon, Beacontown? Jesse? Besides, it's the only lead we've got, so we might as well take it."
Lukas said nothing more in protest, and silently joined me on the path of ice I had begun to form.
"Take my hand," I urged him. "I'll get us back there, faster this time. If the beacon got destroyed, that means they could be in trouble. Come on."
