Everything around us was some sort of shade of pink or purple, the tree trunks decorated with various shades of brown in a spiraling pattern. The only ways I could tell we were in a desert biome were because of the oddly shaped acacia trees, and the tan ground beneath us, which I assumed must have been sand.

"What is this place?" Olivia wondered.

"Everything appears to be made out of candy," I noted. "A sweet, sugary type of food from my home world that comes in varying flavors. Almost everything here appears to be edible."

"Awesome!" Axel grinned, picking up a sand block and getting ready to take a bite.

"We don't have time to stop and taste test everything," I told him. "We need to stay focused and continue our search for Enderlord."

"Aww, man," Axel sighed, putting the sand block back down. "Whatever."

"Uhh... this way, guys," I decided, heading forward, straight ahead from where we just came through the portal.

I led the way for the first few steps again, then fell back in line with Olivia, Lukas, and Soren. I sighed and glanced around at our surroundings, a vast desert with seemingly no end on one side, and very little trees and dead bushes, and a somewhat vast desert on the other side, which ended abruptly in a wall of tall trees with thick trunks, most likely a jungle. If Enderlord had stayed in this flat desert, you'd think we would have seen him by now, but there was no sign of him. Who knows where he could have gone now, or how long it would take for us to spot him again? I sighed again. And it's all my fault we lost him again. If I had just trusted Petra back there- UGH! If it wasn't for me, they wouldn't even be here right now.

"Hey, are you okay?" I must've let some form of sadness or regret register on my face, because Jesse turned around to speak to me, and the whole group stopped.

"I'm sorry, okay?!" I retorted, feeling the tears start to flow at last. "You got taken away from your peaceful, happy lives, adventuring carefree around Beacontown or wherever, and it's all my fault. Enderlord's only after me, after my powers. You guys just got caught in the crossfire, and for that, I am so sorry. Some of you got really hurt, some of you could have died, and it's all because of me. If I had never even used this stupid portal gun, Enderlord wouldn't even have had anything to go after! And I-I'm so sorry..."

Tears started flowing more rapidly, blurring my vision. Ugh! What was wrong with me? I couldn't stop them. Ugh! Pull yourself together. These people are probably staring at you right now like you're crazy, like you're a wierdo, a crybaby, weak! Way to go, genius, you've made yourself the outcast again. They probably think-

Someone suddenly collided with me, wrapping arms around me, breaking my train of thought, and I squinted though my tears to see who it was.

"J-Jesse?" I pressed. "I-I-"
