LOOOL It's been 3 weeks ooof. I blame school starting and having to set up a new laptop among other things. RIP. Anyways I shall continue the story now.

I pulled out my portal gun and started tracking down Enderlord again, getting ready to open a portal to his newest location.

"Actually, before we do that, can we go get something to eat first?" Axel asked. "I mean, that cake was good and all this morning, but so much has happened already today--"

"Yeah, I'm starting to feel hungry, too," Lukas agreed.

"Alright," I relented, and everyone headed back down the stairs to the main room, and through the front door back out into the jungle.

"Help yourselves, everyone," I announced. "Like I said before, everything here is made out of candy, so it should all be edible. Take anything you like."

With that, everyone broke off, but we all kinda stayed close together, in the same area, just in case something happened. I spun around in a small circle in place, scanning the area for anything that looked good. The leaves of these trees were made of ice cream, but they were really high up, and they didn't look like any flavor I liked. The grass was pink, probably cake or something. That didn't sound too bad. The trunks of the jungle trees were vanilla wafers. Those were definitely a no for me. I spotted a square shaped plant growing low to the ground next to the temple. Ooh! Candied melon! Score! I broke the melon and picked up the eight slices it left behind. Now that I had found something that I wanted, I decided to head over towards where the rest of the group was standing.

Lukas was sitting a little ways away, kinda off by himself, leaning against the trunk of one of the trees, eating jungle vines, which appeared to be licorice now. I decided I'd go sit next to him.

"Hey," I began as I plopped down beside him, starting to eat the delicious candied melon.

"Hey," He responded idly.

Nothing was said for the next few seconds as both of us chewed and swallowed. I was starting to fear the awkward silence would go on forever if I didn't do something, but thankfully, Lukas spoke up again.

"You know," He started to say, glancing at the vines in his hand. "I never thought I'd see the day when I'd be eating jungle vines, and they wouldn't taste like wet grass."

"Hehe, you end up doing a lot of things you never expect to when you're out adventuring," I replied, grinning. "You should do it more often."

"Hmm?" Lukas pressed, raising his eyebrows.

"You're more cut out for adventuring than you give yourself credit for," I started to explain. "And your friends, Jesse, Petra, Olivia, Axel, even Ivor, they all miss you when they're gone. They'd love to have you around, more than you care to let yourself believe."

Lukas stiffened as I said that, his eyes widening in shock. Uh-oh. Had I been too stern? Had I gone too far? Was I out of line saying that? Oh crud, oh crud.

"You know what?" Lukas asked aloud, and a squeezed my eyes shut, fearing the worst. "You're right. I'm going to start acting more like I'm a part of this team."

He stood up, putting his hands on his hips, smiling now, and I sighed with relief, standing up as well, and the two of us walked over to stand with the rest of the group.

"How's everyone else doing?" I spoke up, addressing them all now.

"Great!" Jesse smiled.

"Good," Olivia answered.

"This is getting a little annoying, I'll admit," Petra began. "Not because of you, or anything, just the fact that he keeps teleporting away right before we grab him. But, other than that, I'm okay."

"That's good to hear," I put in.

"This place is awesome!" Axel exclaimed, grinning as he chowed down on some candy ferns.

"I think I've had enough adventure in these past two days to last a lifetime," Soren murmured.

"Aww, don't be such a downer, Soren," Ivor insisted. "Admit it, you've been having fun!"

"Okay, maybe a little," Soren relented. "But only a little."

Ivor grinned at this statement, jumping up and down a little.

"What about you, Ivor?" I asked him at last.

"I'll admit, I would have loved it if Harper could've been here to see this," He sighed. "But, beggers can't be choosers when it comes to... ADVENTURE!"

I smiled and shook my head silently in disapproval, though I was giggling. It was quiet for the most part after that, and so I started focusing on finishing off the candied melons. Once I was finished with all eight slices, I cleared my throat and turned to address everyone.

"Okay, has everyone had their fill?" I asked.

They all nodded silently, even Axel, whom I thought would never want to leave a place like this.

"Okay," I began, reaching for my portal gun and honing in on Enderlord's new location. "Then let's track down Enderlord again and finish this off once and for all!"

"Let's do this thing," Petra nodded.

Everyone else nodded, too, holding up their weapons and smiling confidently, though I still hoped we wouldn't have to use them.I opened up a portal to the next world, and everyone headed through without me even needing to motion for it.I brought up the rear and closed the portal behind us.
