Chapter 10: Roles and More Sadness

Paisley's POV
I did the auditions for Isabela at recess. Hope I get the role! I really want to be in the musical and so does Zane, he tried out for Camilo. I know there will be some of us sad, maybe even me, but it's fine! Surely next year there will be a musical or play of some sort. I'm at Bike Ed right now. My level is bike. I'm actually really good. According to the teacher. I counted down the seconds till the bell would ring. 4, 3, 2, 1, RING A LING A LING. "Someone's excited." Bailey. Of course. I turned around at him. "Explain to me." I took a deep breath in. "I auditioned for Isabela in the musical at recess and they're releasing who got the roles of Isabela and Camilo at lunch and I am dying to check the board." Bailey blinked at me with a serious look on his face. "Why does everyone love the musical and think it's so important? Like it's just a play, but with songs?" He doesn't understand theatre. If he doesn't know now, he'll never learn. "Alright y'all can head to the cafeteria to have lunch." I ran there probably the fastest. I wanted to get lunch first. SO LETS GO. Well I don't want to but Akira wants to talk to Coco and I. Fruit and veggies first up, 'yay'. I chose mango chunks and carrot sticks. Snacks and mains! Dog treat beef straps and spaghetti bolognese the special of the day. Barely anyone gets the plain cat food or dog food or wet food. It's all the special of the day now. Coco and Akira were already at a table. I rushed over to them and sat down with them. I'm going to try and finish this meal as quick as I can. "Okay I wanted to tell you all something. You know the dance?" "Mhm?" "Well I got asked to the dance!" Coco and I squealed for Akira, this was great! "Who is it?" We asked at the same time. "Arthur." She said while blushing. We squealed again for her. Coco started jumping up and down. "Guys! You don't need to squeal or jump." She said to us. "Oh come on Aki, let us be happy for you!" I said to her. "By the way, I hope I get the role of Isabela. They've probably already put up the roles on the notice board. I really hope I got it!" I need a napkin. I got up to get it. I walked past Nala, Emerald, Lacy, Cloud and the new girl, Skye. "Don't worry emerald! You are definitely going to get the role of Isabela! It's fate!" Cloud said. Emerald also tried out. Cool. I got a napkin and hurried off. I wiped myself a bit and continued to eat. "Can you 2 come with me to see the board?" "Yeah sure." We got up and walked to the notice board. Before we got there, we saw emerald walking back, look sad, angry with little tears in her eyes. I'm guessing she did not get the role. I heard a barrel of footsteps coming behind us. Only one thing. Zane. I turned around and I was correct! We all walked up to the board.

YES! And zane got it too! Why did it say our breed though? We walked back. Then we saw Skye bundled up just sitting by the stairs. We all looked at each other. "Um hi. Are you Skye? The new girl? Are you alright?" Coco asked her. Coco sat next to her. "Hi. Yeah I'm Skye and I'm sad." Coco looked at us then continued to talk to Skye. "Really? Why are you sad." "I auditioned for the musical but I didn't get it and I'm just a bit sad but I'm fine." "Do you want us to leave you alone." "Just for now if that's fine with you." "Yeah sure, if you have any more problems you can always talk to me or your friends." "Mhm." We walked off. We finished our lunch and headed outside. We chose to hang out by the soccer court and watch whichever group of animals play some sort of game of something. "Hi how'd the auditions go?" Stewart asked me. "Great, Zane and I got the roles but Emerald I think is upset but we saw the new girl, Skye huddled up in a ball, feeling sad because well, she didn't get the role and I feel bad." "Skye? Skye's sad? Is she still there? Sad?" "Um maybe I don't know." Stewart immediately got up and ran away over to the campus building. Why was he so worried for Skye? Did he like her or something. OMG. HE LIKES SKYE?! Or maybe not?

Stewart's POV
I hope Skye's okay. Skye's my sister, I don't want anything bad to happen to her or her be sad. Yes sometimes we both do fight but still. I ran into the school building and I find her huddled up in a ball, upset. "Skye are you okay?" I asked her. Even though I'm her younger brother, gotta make sure she's okay. I'm just the younger twin, okay? "I'm alright, just a bit sad, but like could you leave me alone? Or can you at least get my friends?" "Yeah okay."
