8. A fresh start🥂

I opened the door and dropped my bag on the floor with the whole scenerio with Lucille playing in my head. I just let them flow. Evelyn came back from her workplace obviously surprised to see me.

"Hailey" she called as she came closer to me. I made futile attempt to push back the tears.

"Are you okay?"

"How can I be okay when my world is turning upside down? Everyone one in school mocks me, they all take turns in making fun of me. I've got no one else left. This world is freaking me out!" I cried as she cuddled me.

"Hailey, you have me. I'll always be there for you. I love you Hailey and I promise to make sure you don't feel the pain much. I want you to know that everything will be alright"

"I'm so sorry for everything"

"It's alright. We're leaving for New York state tomorrow, you really need a re-start. '

"Thanks"

I hugged her, this is surely the best news ever.

"I love you mum and it's from my heart"

I said to her surprise. I called her mum cause she was far more better than my biological mother who never wanted me and probably doesn't even care if I'm alive or dead. I could see her clean up drops of tears from her eyes.

"I love you too Hailey" she said with a smile.

" Thanks for accepting me"she said to me and I nodded.

" We have enough money to start a fresh okay. I've told your uncle keny so he'll be here when we leave "

" How come you know uncle Kenechukwu?"

" I've been to your granny's place once with your dad when your mum left "

" Oh! " I mouthed.

" You need to eat something, go shower while I get something for you to eat okay? "

" Alright mum"

I ran upstairs, I hate walking maybe that's why I own mostly joggers or trackers, I rarely even wear skirts.

My mood became lighter, I really can't wait to leave this place.

We spent 7 hours approximately from London New York through the Virgin Atlantic airlines. We landed at the airport and I carried my travelling bag with Evelyn by my side.

Thank goodness, a restart for sure this is. I pray things are better here.

"Hailey Bloom!" a child called waving at me. Oh my goodness! My heart is doing jumping jacks already, do they know me too?

I blushed. This is the first time I'm smiling since my dad's death.

I turned to the girl, waved at her before leaving her with a wink. I did that in most of my TikTok videos especially after a dance.

Really what do I expect? after hitting so many likes and followers?

Evelyn and I got on a cab, we had already made arrangements for an apartment before coming.

The taxi driver looked at me with a wide smile, he seems to be in his late forties.
