14. Damn! we're patners!!!😭

Andriano's POV

Right from the time I entered the class I've been waiting patiently for Hailey. She is usually not so early to school so I'm not surprised not to see her. I wanna flirt with her more cause I guess it gets Jayden annoyed.

Ever since his girlfriend broke up with him two years ago he's been acting like this, a weirdo. He seriously needs to move on, besides Hailey never did anything to him so why vent his anger on her?

Truth be told, I kinda like Hailey but it's just the normal admiration kind of like and nothing more. I actually plan on asking a girl out at the party after school today. They say I'm a playboy but surprisingly the babes keep rolling even when it's pretty obvious the relationship won't last more than a week. Advantage of being a handsome dude.

Mira entered the class set for physics period. Jayden's already seated but Hailey still hasn't arrived.

"Praise the Lord you're early today Andriano" she said to me while giving Jayden a side hug before coming to greet me. We've been like that for like forever, hugging is our form of greeting.

"I decided to turn a new leaf"

"It's probably only for today" Jayden added and I chuckled. I actually came because we might be having physics practical today.

Professor Chinkantar, our physics master is a very strict man. He's an African with such an ugly face that makes me wonder which part of Africa he's from. He has this pot belly which is big enough to accommodate triplets and to make the matter worse, he's very short.

"Where's Hailey?" Mira asked.

"Ion know. Been searching for her, I really miss her y'know" I said flashing a smile at Jayden.

"I knew it! Loose girls. She's your new catch for the week huh?" He asked with a smirk.

" Nah! I've got a girl I wanna ask out at the party today. Besides Hailey is reserved. She doesn't deserve your shitty attitude towards her " I said to him in a serious tone and he raised an eyebrow.

" What? " I asked but he just shook his head.

"What do you all see in her?" He asked obviously irritated.

"You know the answer to that."

"Well I don't" he concluded. Mira was already tired of the whole thing.

"Can I get some peace please!" She said with a small frown.

Just then the physics devil entered. I hope he's in a good mood to allow latecomers in today. I hate his African mentality even more than I hate him.

Jayden's POV

Thank goodness the physics teacher came in and more thanks to God cause Hailey's not here.

I watched the teacher explain somethings while I scribble on my jotter. I can't afford to loose any mark to Hailey at all, not anymore. Why does someone have to be smart and beautiful. I said beautiful cause referring to her as 'hot' sounds kind of perverted.

Something led to the other and the short prof. asked if anyone could recall the equations of linear motion. Damn! How come I can't remember that easy stuff? No one could remember them so we just sat staring at thin air. Normally we would have asked google but god will punish you if you're caught by him. No wonder Andriano hates him.

Just when he was about making it a test Hailey entered. She looked breathtaking like always with a pair of joggers and a hoodie with sneakers. How many hoodies does she own cause I noticed she can't stay a day without it. Funny enough she knows how to match them with her outfit so it's cool.

Mr Chinkantar stopped to look at her. It's quite obvious he'll have to unleash his frustration on her.

"Miss...?"

"Hailey" she added with a cute smile.

"Miss Hailey can you tell the class what took you so long?" He asked with a serious tone.

"Em- sir something came up. I'm so sorry, promise never to be late again."She replied with an innocent face.

Sir don't let her in. It will be so partial cause you punish others whenever they are late.
I screamed wickedly in my head.

He asked her the stupid question he had asked us earlier. She went to the board and derived the equations effortlessly like she studied it before coming. He smiled at her before letting her in.

I rolled my eyes at her while she did the same with a wicked grin. It was our way of greeting each other.

"That was cool" Mira giggled.

"Thanks, residual knowledge I guess." She said to Mira before giving me an evil smile. She must be a witch, a hot witch!

Jayden shut up. I mentally slapped myself.

"I'll want you all to pick members for your practical on relative density. Two students on a stand."

We all lined up to pick the pieces of folded paper with our partners name on it. I picked mine and slowly opened it.

"Shit!" I muttered.

We were to call our partners and head to the laboratory before the physics teacher caught up with us. It soon got to my turn...

"Hailey Thompson" I called and she flinched. I'm not happy about it too but what can I do? There's nothing on earth that will make him reshuffle us.

We walked to the physics Lab in silence. Others were chatting with their partners but the tension between Hailey and I was too much. She was humming a song with her pencil in its usual place. I wonder if she's aware of it or she forgot it there. The pencil on her ear makes her look so childish but she seems not to care.

We got to the physics Lab and took our lab coats. Suddenly she turned to me with an emotionless face.

"Jayden I'm not so happy about this arrangement so don't make it feel like it's a big deal".

"Meaning?" I asked corking my brows.

"It means I'm not gonna be the one crying for low scores. You know for sure it's a group stuff so don't make it difficult for me okay! Pretend I'm not Hailey".

She said to me and then started setting up the apparatus for the practical.
