32. Does she like me?🤔

JAYDEN'S POV

I can't believe I held Hailey in my arms.
And why am I so excited?
Could it be I like her? She's overly attractive so it's normal for my body to react when I'm around her right? I made my way to the guest room but I realized mum would find out there was something fishy so I settled for the living room.

Speak of the devil!

I watched her walk into the living room with a glass of water.

"Jayden you're still up?" She asked and I nodded while.

"Why aren't you sleeping in your room?" She asked narrowing her gaze at me.

"It's too hot." I blurt out without thinking.

"Hot?" She asked and I nodded with a small smile. I obviously sound stupid right now.

"Uhmm yeah! I'll just turn on the AC" I say to her and start walking into my room to avoid further questions.

"Good night dear" She whispered and I turned to her with a grin.

"Good night mum"

Phew! That was close! I opened the door to my room and I saw Hailey lying on the bed scribbling something on a sheet of paper. She quickly hid it immediately she saw me.

"No need hiding that. I caught you already" I say with a grin.

"I saw a book lying and I felt tempted to sketch a few things. I'm so sorry I didn't tell you" she muttered and she sounded so cute.

"No probs. I'm cool"

"Why are you back though?" She asked all of a sudden and I shrugged.

"This is still my room remember? And besides mum saw me downstairs and I really don't wanna look suspicious" I tell her and she nodded shyly. She's never the one to act shy. She's always been the fierce kind, does she like me too? Naah! I doubt, it's just because of what happened earlier today and the fact that she's spending the night in my room.

"Are you gonna stay on the bed?" She asked after a while and I take a look at her and she bit her lower lip nervously and my gaze stays there a little bit longer than intended. She doesn't even want me close to her?

"I'll sleep on the couch" I finally say without thinking about the repercussions, I was a tall guy at least more than six feet point so I'm sure that couch would leave me with aches in the morning but I guess I have to stick to my word. Maybe join her on the bed when she's deep asleep.

She had a small smile playing on her lips before muttering a good night and retiring to bed. I got out extra blankets from my wardrobe to ease my stay on the couch and went to the bed to cover Hailey with one. She looked so peaceful and angelic when she slept. I couldn't take my eyes off her.

'what are you doing to me Hailey?'
I mutter under my breath as I watched her chest heave up and down when she took slow steady breaths. I stared up at her lips, those soft pink lips. I found my fingers caressing them gently while I imagine how great it would be to have a taste of those succulent lips. I guess I'll have to play the watchman tonight.

I gently push a lock if curly hair out of her face so that I could have a better view of that face that kept on hunting me in my dreams. Before I knew it my face drew closer to hers and as if my sanity came rolling back I realized it would be so creepy of me yo peck her lips while she was asleep. I'm actually surprised at how much my heart was beating at this point and how far I'm deep inside this.

I peck the corner of her lips before pulling my face away from her. I caught sight of the paper she had hid from me earlier.

"You're such a cute little baby. You thought I stopped wouldn't find this?" I mutter under my breath as a small smile tugged on my lips which actually suprised me cause I can't believe I'm almost grinning by just thoughts of her. I think I might be running crazy. I stared at the sketch, it was of a heart shape which had wings. It was simple yet beautiful just like the artist behind it. My heart did some flips when I saw the J & H she had inscribed inside the heart which looked 3D. Did she mean Jayden and Hailey?
Could it be she likes me too?

I guess I'll have to find out.

I slept off on the bed beside her and ended up dreaming of her, not just an ordinary dream but my numerous wet dreams which were mostly about her.

I open my eyes and it's morning already, I realized I slept on the bed with Hailey and her head was resting on my chest. She looked so adorable. I gently disengaged myself from her and got downstairs, I can't afford mum coming to wake me up herself. It's obvious I'm gonna skip classes today though, with everything that happened I definitely won't be making it to school early and I have to make sure Hailey is fine.

I saw Molly downstairs with my mum, Molly has an early appointment with the dentist so she has to be there before 8:30 while mum has work to do.

"Hey big brother!" Molly greeted with a grin while pulling me in for a hug.

"Hey baby, slept well?" I asked and she nodded.

"I'm going for my check up and I hate hospitals" she whined and I smiled at her.

"It's gonna be alright baby. Very soon they'll be no need for you to visit the hospital okay?"

"You sure?" She asked with a small smile and l nodded.

"I'm super sure" I added and pecked her cheek.

"Hey mum!" I called giving her a side hug and Molly ran outside, she's obviously going to knock at Aunt Ema's house. She's an old widow and she has this fondness for Molly. It became a daily routine for Molly to knock at her door and greet her every morning because she got cupcakes as a good morning present. She lived opposite us and her cupcakes are the best.

"So how's your guest? Is she awake yet?" Mum asked and my eyes widened, I almost choked on my saliva. 

"Uhmm... I don't understand, what...."

"She's Hailey right? The one that you had a project with the other day right?" She asked and I nodded. She had a huge grin on her face now and I knew she was going to tease me about this forever.

"You guys are a thing now?" She asked and I blush.

"Not really. We're not buddies and I don't think we'll be in a long while. She was just caught up in the middle of trouble and I helped her" I say to her trying my best to maintain a straight face while she wriggled her eyebrows at me and I burst into feets of laughter. Such a clown.

"If you've got no strings attached why are your cheeks red?" She asked with a smirk and I groaned.

"So you don't trust me?" I try to emotionally blackmail her but she rolled her eyes at that.

"I don't mind if you date again Jayden. You seem happy with her and all I want us your happiness. She seems cool so if you like her, go for her" she said with a smile and I shrugged. But seriously did she say Hailey is cool?

"She's far from cool mum. She's fierce and annoying and she just dislikes me"

"Wareva!" Mum yelled while leaving me behind.

"Mum like seriously?" I asked in frustration.

"Suite yourself!" She yelled before slamming the door.
