Chapter 31-

Pains Worth It

Qua_' sean POV

__________

The damage was done and there's no coming out of it. They started the war and we'll end it. Today was probably the day it'll all end depending on how it goes.

We found out the location to their little "secret society" and decided to do a little pop up visit and surprise them, but right now I was kicking it with family.

It was about three in the afternoon, Midnight was sitting in silence on the couch while I played with Lyric at my mom's place. My mom went on vacation with my dad a few days ago, so we had this house to ourselves.

Her silence was nerve wrecking. She was just staring into the blank wall, clutching onto her stomach in that same position; elbow resting on the arm of the couch, one leg stretched out while the other one is bended.

"Pop" Lyric snapped me out of my trance by throwing her racecar at me.

I picked it up "Vroom vroom" I pushed it back to her.

At about four in the afternoon, after snack time, Lyric fell asleep and I put her in the room. I walked back to the living room and watched her before I made a move.

It was like she was caught in the moment of doing nothing or she just had a lot on her mind that she's been in that position for about an hour and a half.

"Midnight" I said lowly, sitting next to her. I touched her thigh causing her to jump.

She placed her hand over her breast "You scared me" she sighed in relief.

"I was looking at you look at nothing for the last hour. You okay?" I took her hand.

She sighed "Yeah, yeah. That funeral just really drained me. I didn't like seeing those people and seeing her mom cry was just..." She shook her head and flared her hands around.

"It wasn't the worst funeral you been to. Your mom wasn't there" I slouched in the couch.

_________

Her mom was crying in the front row while the rest of her family tried to calm her down. Dove, Blu and Ultimo were there, but sat in the second row. We walked around for a bit then settled in the seventh row, but Rachel's mom demanded we sat in the front row.

"Please, Midnight" she cried "You do so much for her and our familia. Come sit with us. This wouldn't be possible without your help"

She looked at me then stood up, nodding her head "Okay" she took her hand and mines.
