Midnight's been gone for five weeks now and I miss her, but she's doing little things that keep on pissin me off.
We were FaceTiming each other early today when I took Lyric and Asia to Burger King.
We sat in one of the high booths near the window. I got out my laptop and decided to call up Middy to video chat.
She answered although she looked a bit upset.
"What's wrong with yo face?" I asked concerned.
She shook her head "Hey baby... How y'all been?"
Both Asia and Lyric responded "Good!"
Lyric placed her hands on the screen "I want Mommy" and Midnight placed her hands there too.
"I'll be home soon, but I won't make it in time for Christmas" she lowered her eyes.
"What?! You gonna buy me gifts right?" Asia said with widened eyes.
She nodded "Of course. We got locked in cause this blizzard here in Detroit. I knew it was a bad idea to travel to Michigan" she rolled her eyes.
"I want Mommy... Mommy?" She pouted.
She sighed "Yes, baby"
"When you come back?" A tear fell from her eye.
"Baby don't cry. I be home at the blink of an eye"
And that she did. Lyric blinked her eyes, but was still disappointed. "You not here Mommy"
"You have your cousins, your aunts, your grandma and Q there for you while I'm gone. I love you and if I can dodge this whole storm I wo-"
The connection cut off and she just started crying hysterically like someone hit her. I threw her over my shoulder as I slid out the booth. Asia was ready to take the laptop.
"Q, are you marrying my mom?"
My brows frowned "What? Who?"
"Grandma say Auntie M is my mom and not my real aunt"
"Well" I scratched my head as I opened the door for her "Toni's your mom"
Her face mustered up to confusion "Then why is Lyric calling Auntie M mommy if she's not my mom?"
I just hush my mouth cause I remember what happen the last time I try to explain something to these Midnight related kids.
It was about ten thirty and I wasn't tired not one bit. I put Lyric to sleep about two hours earlier along with Asia and Harmony while Toni ran a night shift at her editorial board.

"When u expect 2 make it back?"
"Next year... With all due honesty. I hate it up here. I'm freezing"
