"I must be going crazy." Nai bent down, reaching for her medical books scattered all over the floor. "Bitch turn the ac off it's fucking October!" A sudden chill rolled up her spine.
"The ac ain't even fucking on! What the hell?" Nai rolled her eyes and laughed. Suddenly, she felt a thump underneath her. The first boom of thunder hit them. The whole room vibrated slightly as a chill swept through it.
"Oh, what the fuck was that? Stop fucking around Lani."
"Huh? What the fuck are you talking about I'm not doing—" Lani looks at the ground as it starts to shake. The wind howling around the corners of the room, made books and objects levitate all around them. The hairs on their arms started to stand, sensing what seemed to be an oncoming storm.
"Oh my god! What the fuck?!" Nai lost her balance, face-planting into the ground. "Oh fuck! what the—- ah!" A book jumped from the bed, smacking her in the head. "Ow! Hold onto something!!" She yelled, gripping onto the leg of the bed.
There was creaking coming from the walls. Flashes of light lit up the apartment, blinding them. The girls screamed, grabbing anything nearby as the whole room began to shake. It felt as if the ground was about to open up and swallow them whole. "Nai!!" Lani yelled, grabbing onto the dresser. She put her back against the wall, trying to comprehend what was happening.
She looked towards the light and gasped. "Nai! Look! It's the mirror!"
When she looked, the shock made her lose her grip on the bed. Nai caught herself on the frame of the mirror just as the room began to spin. "How—-how the fuck do I break this shit?!" She went to punch the glass, but her hand went right through. "No! ———That's impossible!"
"Watch out!!" Lani flew right into Nai, making both of them go through the mirror. "Oof!" The girls slid across the floor and crashed into a wall.
Lani groaned at the pain in her arm. Nai struggled to get up, staring at the familiar carpet. She blinked a few times, rubbing her eyes to make sure that what she was seeing was true.
"Lani? What the fuck happened?!" She whispered, looking around the bedroom. "Is this ——- there's no fucking way."
Lani was hyperventilating, staring at her hands. Her eyes shifted from left to right as she gripped her hair in disbelief. How could this be happening?
"No... what the fuck?! Nai? What is this?! I'm——-I'm shaking! We—-we're not supposed to be here. We gave this shit up! We went back Nai! We went back!" Lani was panicking. "So why are we here again?" She shouted.
Nai looked over to her confused. She ran over to the window to check the time. It was the middle of the day. But how, that was impossible. They were sitting in their room relaxing and having a peaceful dinner. When, with no warning, they got sucked back into the mirror. Kazutora gave them all the details they needed to get back home for good. So why? Why the fuck were they back here again? It was like déjà vu the way they ended up in this same empty room.
She turned around to see Lani on the floor muttering incoherently to herself. She stared at the wall with a blank expression on her face.
"Nini? Are you okay?" She whispered, moving cautiously toward Lani's direction. She tried not to spook her. She has never seen her friend in this state.
"We——-we——we left —- we went back—- home. Ho—-— home to D-Derek and Koha. We fixed it. We fixed everything, so why? Why are we here?" Lani continued to mumble to herself as Nai walked over. She squats down and grabs Lani by the face, forcing her to stare at her.
"Hey! Lani, baby! Listen to me, I need you to calm down, we're going to be okay!"
"Nai —-I——I can't breathe! I can't!" She panted, gripping her wrist. Tears started to form in her eyes, she was doing her best to catch her breath. Nai was trying to keep it together but seeing Lani in this state had her breaking.
