"After you, pretty ladies," Hanma said, holding the door open for Lani and Nai.
"Thanks, Hanma," Nai responded, bowing slightly before walking through the threshold.
Lani gave Hanma a smirk, lifting her brow. Hanma winked back, smirking as she walked past him and gripping her hand for a brief moment.
As Nai walked through the store, she couldn't help but notice how luxurious it was compared to the shop back home. Of course, it was, she thought. Kisaki would only want the best.
They had managed to sweet-talk and convince the boys to let them go outside the house, with their permission, of course. That part was fair enough, so there wasn't any need to make a fuss about it. If they were going to get closer to the answers they were looking for, they knew they had to play their cards right.
"Well, this place looks a lot nicer than that shady-ass, hole-in-the-wall back at home," Lani said, browsing the lamps on display.
"You're absolutely right about that," Nai agreed, scanning the room for the shop owner. They were on a mission: get in, gather the information they needed, and get out without the boys catching on.
"Everything going okay, Lady Nai?" Benkei asked, tilting his head in curiosity.
Nai turned to him with a smile, waving her hands dismissively. "Oh, y—yes, yes, I'm fine. Don't worry about us, go ahead and look for that new bed for Wakasa."
She playfully pushed him toward the bedroom items section. The thought of Wakasa breaking his bed from, well, vigorous activity, made her a little dizzy. Damn, what I would give to help him break this new one in, she thought to herself, quickly shaking the idea away as she remembered how much of a jerk he had been to her recently.
Determined to stay focused, she continued searching for help. Nai's eyes scanned the large store until she finally spotted a worker staging a living room display.
"Um, excuse me? Do you work here?" she called out, waving and flashing a soft smile at the man.
There was something familiar about him, though she couldn't quite put her finger on it. His hair reminded her of bananas—blonde framing pieces in a half-up, half-down style. His golden eyes were similar to Hanma's but slightly darker, and his full lips were almost distractingly kissable.
"Oh, yeah, I do. Did you need help finding something?" he responded politely, walking over to her.
Nai fidgeted with the hem of her shirt, trying to keep her cool. "Um, yes, actually. I was looking for your body-length mirrors. Could you maybe point me in the right direction?" she asked shyly.
The man adjusted his bun and nodded. "Yes, of course, come this way."
Wow, he's fucking cute, Nai thought to herself as he led her toward the mirrors.
"How about you help me look for a bed too?" Hanma whispered, gripping Lani's waist and pulling her in the direction Benkei was heading.Lani rolled her eyes, trying to pull away from him. "That's not what I came here for, Shuji. Let me see your phone real quick," she said, holding out her hand.
Hanma chuckled, digging into his pocket and pulling out his iPhone. "Annnd, who do you think you're calling?" he teased, holding the phone over her head.
Lani bit the inside of her cheek and frowned, reaching up to grab the phone, but Hanma quickly raised it higher out of her reach.
"Stupid fucking beanstalk," she huffed as Hanma laughed at her attempts to reach the phone.
"Please stop fucking around, Shuji. Remember, I took a picture of Rindou's mirror on it? I want to ask the store owner if they have something similar."
Lani whined, still reaching for the phone.
