"AHHHHH!"
They both flinched at the sound of the gun going off. A bullet flew past Nai, shattering a vase of flowers sitting on a table in the hall.
"OH MY FUCKING GOD!" Lani screamed, covering her head as they continued up the stairs.
"Agh, I fucking missed! Aye! Get your asses back here! Don't fucking run away from me!" Sanzu yelled, taking off after them.
"Did you let anyone in?" Kakucho asked, watching Sanzu disappear upstairs.
"No." Mochi glanced toward Ran. "Are these your girls? Maybe you just don't remember?"
Ran smirked, lighting a cigarette. "Nah." He took a drag, blowing the smoke from his lips. "The ginger's kinda hot, though."
"Are you fucking serious?" Rindou scoffed, rolling his eyes before taking off upstairs after Sanzu.
Typical Ran.
—
"OPEN THE FUCKING DOOR!"
Sanzu slammed his boot against Rindou's bedroom door hard enough to rattle the frame. Inside, the girls cowered behind a dresser they'd managed to shove in front of it.
"Just give us a moment to explain ourselves!" Nai yelled, pressing both hands against the dresser.
"Fuck no! Get out here! You had a moment and you fucking ran! What the fuck?!"
While Nai tried to keep the dresser in place, Lani frantically felt around the mirror, searching for anything that might activate it. A button, a switch, a fucking magic word—anything.
"Fuck!" She slapped her palm against the glass. "It's still not working!"
Another kick shook the door.
"Can we just talk?!" Nai shouted.
"Talk?!" Sanzu barked out a laugh. "Yeah, come talk to me so I can blast a hole in your fucking head!"
Nai slowly looked over at Lani.
"See?" Lani whispered.
"Shut up."
A few of the men had gathered in the hallway by the time Sanzu kicked the door again.
"What's going on?" Koko asked, strolling over.
"These women showed up in our living room," Kakucho explained. "We tried questioning them. They panicked and ran."
"And they don't belong to Ran or Wakasa?"
"Nope. We asked that already."
"For the most part, I keep up with my girls." Ran took another drag from his cigarette. "Definitely never seen these two before."
"Wakasa's currently occupied with one of his as we speak," Takeomi added.
"Guh-ross." Koko leaned against the wall with a smirk.
Rindou finally reached the top of the stairs and stopped beside them, slightly out of breath. Ran's attention immediately dropped to his wrist.
"Hey. What's that?"
Rindou looked down. "What?"
"That bracelet."
"It's a friendship bracelet." He smiled, holding up his wrist so Ran could get a better look.
Ran stared at him. "For who? You don't have any friends."
"For my future friends. Look, I made two." He shook his wrist, jingling the second bracelet.
