A few days earlier...
After the events of the Shibuya Incident, Principal Masamichi Yaga sat alone, confined within a prison. The man's hands were sealed with numerous talismans to prevent him from using his cursed energy, therefore preventing any form of escape.
Yaga had a solemn look laced upon his weathered and tired face. He had accepted the reality of his situation...
That he would be executed.
A voice called to him. "Yaga..." The voice belonged to none other than Principal Gakuganji.
The elderly man stood just outside Yaga's cell before he continued to speak to his fellow principal. "What exactly is that thing?" he asked, referring to Panda.
"That thing's cursed energy belongs to itself, so it is self-supporting. The higher-ups are currently trying to designate you as a special grade and officially impose an indefinite restraint on you. Because if you can intentionally make those, you can make an army." Gakuganji explained.
"So answer me, Yaga. Do you truly not know how that thing was made?" Gakuganji asked.
"No, I don't." Yaga answered.
A couple of moments later, another voice called out his name, "Masamichi." It was seemingly a cursed corpse that Yaga had created. The cursed corpse resembled that of a dog, with a tie. It sat beside Yaga.
"Everyone is worried about how gloomy you are." The cursed corpse pointed out.
Dejectedly, Yaga responded, "Yeah?"
"So I told them we should cheer them up." The cursed corpse once again pointed out.
"Yeah?" Yaga asked once again, and the man sounded defeated.
"Aren't I a genius?" The cursed corpse asked cheerfully, and he pointed to himself.
Yaga softly patted the head of the cursed corpse as he responded, "Yeah, you are."
"I'm sorry, Takeru, but I can't return for a while. Tell everyone for me." Yaga said.
The cursed spirit was now revealed as Takeru asked Yaga, "Another outing?"
"Yeah. And a long one." Yaga answered before reassuring Takeru. "Don't worry. Master Tengen protects this forest. And your mother will come to see you again. Even without me, you'll be fine."
Masamichi Yaga had decided to leave, and as he was about to crawl to a door within one of the trees, the voice of Takeru called out to him, "Masamichi...We'll miss you." Takeru said. The rest of the cursed corpses stood behind them as they said their final goodbyes to the man.
(Meanwhile, Kusakabe)
A rope that was tied around the wrists of Panda was suddenly sliced in half, freeing the cursed corpse. It was revealed that Kusakabe had snuck inside the execution room to save Panda's life.
Initially surprised, Panda looked at his hands as he rubbed his wrists before asking Kusakabe, "Are you sure about this, Kusakabe?"
"Don't tell anyone I helped you. You were caught and used as bait in order to draw out Yaga. I owe him." Kusakabe revealed.
As Kusakabe sheathed his blade, he thought back to his very personal reason: his motivation for helping Principal Masamichi Yaga.
Flashback...
Kusakabe was seen with a woman in a wheelchair. Her eyes and face were devoid of any life; nothing was there.
Yaga, who was standing directly in front of the pair, asked Kusakabe, "It's really all right, huh? This guy isn't your nephew. It's something with your nephew's information."
