Higuruma frowned slightly, claiming while he screamed, "You're no exception, Itadori! All people! Are flawed and hideous! No matter how noble a soul you wish to have! A brilliant void will once again be sprawled out ahead of you!!"
Higuruma rushed toward Yuji, who retreated toward the seats behind them. Yuji then threw several seats, creating a distraction. Higuruma noticed Yuji's jacket moving between the chairs and focused his attention there. However, Yuji's jacket was just another distraction the student used to get behind Higuruma. The lawyer turned around to attack, but Yuji used a third distraction by throwing his hoodie at Higuruma's face to block his view. Yuji then followed up by throwing a sweeping kick at Higuruma's feet to knock him down.
Higuruma then thought back to his conversation with the elderly man, answering his question about becoming a lawyer. The pair's voices echoed through his mind.
Back when Higuruma used to be a law apprentice...
A younger Higuruma turned to face an older man who had just called out "Higuruma-kun." He had a look of indifference toward the man.
"Yoshizawa-san, I already submitted my proposal earlier..." Higuruma pointed this out.
Yoshizawa shrugged this off to inform Higuruma, "Oh no, that's not it. I viewed your draft earlier; it's splendid. We could even use it as is to make a verdict." The elderly man smiled, and getting to his point, he continued, "If I remember correctly, you were aspiring to become either a prosecutor or a lawyer."
"Yes." Higuruma answered, confirming with his senior.
Yoshizawa decided to give Higuruma an offer instead. "How about trying to become a judge?" He asked.
"I'm sorry. I will not become a judge." Higuruma answered.
"I see...I'd like to hear your reasoning." Yoshizawa responded.
"All people are flawed and hideous."
"I'm not interested in promotions, so I'm not suited for it." Higuruma answered.
Back to the present...
Higuruma jumped over Yuji's attempted kick as he tried to get into position to deliver a falling slash that was sure to finish off Yuji. The latter then tried to counter with a desperate rising uppercut that would connect at the same time.
"I believed this impurity that's not present in other organisms is something that should be cherished!Why Itadori Yuji...Why did you admit to the crime!?The submitted evidence was about the demon nesting inside you, Sukuna!! You didn't kill them!!" Higuruma thought.
