Earlier on, Tengen was discussing details with the group of Yuki, Choso, Maki, Megumi, Yuji, and Satoshi. The topic of Hakari was initially brought up by Maki. Yuji was understandably unsure of who this guy was.
After he was informed about the suspended third-year, Tengen was asked about Hakari's current whereabouts.
"Hakari is now in an abandoned multistory parking lot in Tochigi Prefecture. He's making money by becoming a bookmaker for gambling matches." Tengen informed.
"Gambling match?" Yuji asked.
"Fights between Jujutsu Sorcerers." Tengen answered.
"And let me guess, this jackass is allowing non-sorcerers to spectate these matches?" Satoshi asked.
"I'm afraid so, Arbiter." Tengen answered.
"Doesn't that severely infringe upon the Jujutsu Rules Article Eight, which is to keep confidentiality?" Megumi asked.
"Among the participants in the gambling match, there must be some curse users. Please be careful." Tengen advised.
Later on...
The duo is currently changing their outfits in the middle of a forest. A little uncertain as to the reason, Yuji asked, "Why'd we need to change our clothes?"
"Hakari was suspended because he disputed with the higher-ups. Now he's also violating the Jujutsu School Rules. If he knows we are affiliated with the Jujutsu school, he may decide to run away." Megumi explained.
"Hm?" Yuji mumbled.
"Our relationship is just like cops and robbers." Megumi said, simplifying it in lamens terms for Yuji.
As the pair approached the abandoned parking lot, Yuji asked Megumi, "Are we now in the Jujutsu School position?"
"It's a sort of gray area, but at least from his perspective, we are his foes." Megumi claimed.
"Is he even someone that's willing to cooperate?" Yuji asked.
"I'm not certain except one thing. He's definitely not a good person. A bunch of seniors told me he's an absolute jerk. But that Okkotsu-senpai said Hakari is stronger than him." Megumi answered.
"I would like him to cooperate with us. If only for his fighting prowess." Megumi said, only for the duo to be noticed by another pair.
The first one was sat down. The man was rather tall with a good build; he had blonde hair that was slicked back. The other was a rather short man with a combover and black hair who was wearing a suit.
The taller man approached Megumi and Yuji only to get aggressive with the pair. "Get lost, brat. This isn't someplace to hang out. Imma count to three, and when I'm done, you better be out of my sight or imma beat the crap out of you." He ordered Megumi and Yuji.
"We need some money. Let us participate in the gambling match here." Megumi responded.
Suddenly, the man threw a punch directly at Megumi's face. Only for him to stop just before Megumi's face; this was a test to see if the teenager would flinch.
Megumi didn't even move a muscle.
